Do you find any of the three more or less problematic than the others?
tbh i feel like doctor who kind of tried at some point to be diverse like:
martha being a smart, empowered woc who doesn't take any shit
jenny and vastra
jack harkness being pans or bi (not in those exact words tho)
like the show itself has so much potential b/c in sci fi you can be SO diverse. like you can have a variety of aliens and humans but they don't tap into that. it has the ability to be a more racially/sexually/gender diverse show and like they tried but not hard enough.
same with supernatural like there are:
references to queer characters
figures from non-white/non-european folklore and religions
some pocs
but the problem is that the queer characters barely get any actual development, gods from faiths like buddhism, hinduism, paganism, norse paganism, shintoism and so on are usually killed off or made into a christian elitist joke.
and then sherlock didn't really try at all. the only way to improve sherlock at this point would be if molly, irene, mary, and sally donovan had their own apartment and a quirky crime-solving/crime-committing sitcom with a lot of girl power and self-love and feminist sisterhood and lesbians. because irene said she was a lesbian but instead she fell in love w/sherlock. like i know that sexuality is fluid (i've been labeling myself as a lesbian for over three years and i'm just beginning to wonder if i might actually be pansromantic) but like sherlock isn't even that good looking like pls get some higher standards.
