sadie really wishes she’d be back in time for halloween, so she can celebrate the holiday with her favorite skeleton. but it’s unknown to her if she’d be back in time, so instead she hugs jack. she misses him dearly, and hopes that he can teach her how to scare people properly when she’s back again 🤍

“Sadie!” Jack only has a moment to recover from the surprise before kneeling down and scooping her up into a proper hug. “I do hope you’ve been keeping out of trouble out there! I have certainly missed seeing your bright smile around the place!”

But Sadie, your thinking is too narrow! It’s alright if the Holiday itself is missed. Jack lives in the town of Hallowe’en! There can always be a mini-party for when she is able to come visit properly!

there is something strangely wrapped around one of lily's favorite toys, and upon further inspection reveals that it is a red ribbon with text written on the inside that says, "I͏͉̫ ̶̟K̘̖͍͎̘N̼͖̤͖O̡͓̹W̧͎̦̹ ͜W̝̮̜̪H̲̀A̤T̛͇̩̝̞͉̖ S͕H̷͚͍̭͕E͎̣ ̗̻͈̟̺͚͞Ḑ͓IḌ̮̱̗̺͖ͅ ̹̻̟T̵͕O͚͔͉̹̩͉̞ ̨̙Ṱ̳̫̗͍̠̺H͏̙̩̗̫̗̭E̡̼̣̟̘M̵,͍ ̫̝̘̩̲͞D̴̝͇O̼̥̻̞ͅ ̩̻̹͙̫̳̺Y̵̜͎O҉͕̲̣̲ͅÙ͈̙̻͇̙͙̭?̯͍̫̳͕̭"

Lily knew her stuffed animals. She knew specifically which ones had bows. And to her knowledge…..none of them had red ribbons. Someone her age might have ignored it otherwise; what was a stray ribbon? But it’s just odd enough for her to take a closer look - and it’s only then that she notices the weird, scrawled writing….. Sheesh, and she thought SHE had bad handwriting. She sure didn’t recognize it, nor could she imagine who “she” was….. Perhaps it was something having to do with Wasteland….? Or…..

Ugh……no, wait. this had to be one of Wakko’s dirty tricks to try and scare her. Creepy writing. Red ribbon. It was a giveaway, right?

……….She hoped so. This once.

     The duckling appears startled and worn down by the time she finds him, which is very rare for her. She is usually full of energy (or sleepy if she had put off a nap) and cheerful. Of course, he is one of the few people who has seen her weaker or worried or upset before, and he always made her feel better and fixed what was wrong. That’s why she has come to him now, a ribbon with a cryptic message held tightly in one of her small hands.

     “Papa, please look at this,” Webby pleads, failing to use her usual manners and asking if he was busy before holding the red cloth up for Scrooge to take.

     “I don’t know what it means and I don’t know who it means, but it was on my doll and I don’t know how it got there and-and...“ This is not!! Normal!! She is not sure if she should be worried about herself or someone she knows or both!!
