"Greetings madam, it is marvelous to see you again."
It had been a month. One long, painful month since he had returned from Egypt with Grandpa and the gang, one month since the Ceremonial Duel, one month since he had to say goodbye. While he knew that everything that happened was supposed to, he still felt like something was missing. It didn't take a genius to figure it out. It wasn't the weight of the puzzle against his chest, it wasn't the constant strand of people seeking him out for a duel to defeat him and take over the world, it was Ya-Atem. It was his best friend. He missed him so much. When he made the wish on the puzzle for friends, he never imagined that it would come true. Yes, he had made so many friends thanks to the puzzle, but it was Yami who he considered as the real answer to his prayers.
He sighed and flopped on his bed. Another day of waking up, going to school, pretending to be his happy, go lucky self, come home, help Grandpa in the shop, dinner, homework, bed. This was his life now. No more magic. No more adventures. While he missed Ya-Atem, greatly, he had yet to shed any tears. He knew he was resting, where he needed to be. The tears he shed tonight was not for the fact that he was gone, but for the fact that he had never gotten to tell him his greatest secret. The secret he had shared with no one, but himself. Love. He was in love. Of course, of the millions of people in the world, he had to fall for the three thousand year old pharaoh, a spirit no less, that had to go to the afterlife the moment he regained his memories. Every night, this regret weighed heavily on him, and tonight it was too much. He curled up under his covers, tears flowing down his cheeks. He spoke quietly, more to himself, but to any being that would listen.
"Gods... I know... I know I'm being selfish, but... please, if you can hear me... I miss him. I miss him so much. Pharaoh Atem... mou hitori no boku... I miss you so much. I know he belongs where is he. He is with his family and friends, but... I want him to know... I need him to know that I love him. I've always loved him, I just couldn't... I couldn't tell him, and I regret it. I regret it every day. I want him to know. I want to tell him how much he means to me, but I can't. I can't because I won't ask for something I know I can't I have, I know I don't deserve. He is happy where he is, I know this." He sighed. "It's impossible. You can't bring someone back from the dead. Yuugi, you idiot. He wouldn't want to come back anyway. There is nothing here for him. Nothing worthy of him being here..."
He wiped his eyes, wrapping the blanket tightly around him. His eyes drifted close, a sniff breaking the silence. As he drifted to sleep, he mumbled unconsciously, "Yami... Atem... please... come back for me... I need you... I love you.."
"Well, well, here are few familiar faces. It's good to see you all."

Changing over to different rp accounts for the night. Anubis is a bit worn out now. I have everyone saved in drafts!
themourningvulture replied to your post: She materialized before him, arms behind her back. She had sensed something was off. Dark… Anger… “Anubis?” She knew better that to reach for him now; especially with his anger radiating off of him in waves.
Her eyes watched him as he paced. After a moment or two she stepped forward, placing a soft hand on his shoulder, “You will wear a hole in the floor if you keep that up. Sit. Have a drink.”
He froze, shoulders stiffening and a snarl leaving him as he turned to his mother, his fists clenched so hard blood seeped between his fingers and dripped to the floor. Everything stood still...And then he complied, following her to a seat but instead of sitting, he grabbed a goblet of beer and downed it. "Mother, shit's happening. You need to be careful from here on out."

Atem looked at her for a long moment before something familiar clicked in his mind and he dropped to his knees. The Gods seemed to be appearing much more frequent..."Goddess, I am honored by your visitation."
