Dialogue and feelings. First person POV is the hardest, IMO, and you really nail down Kolyat's thinking and feelings. It's like being in his head and experiencing things through him, rather than having him narrate the story, you know? Great execution, 20 out of 10 stars.
That’s what I’m going for, thank you for the stars! The negatives of writing this way is I can’t wander off and write Bats or Oriana as an example, or even the POV of the murderer of the story. I’m on the Kolyat Express™ and railroaded by his experiences, so have to try an make it as dynamic as I can- even if the plot is happening offstage and I still have to show it.
Confession alert: I only chose to write in first person as eidetic memory is odd in third person, and it flows a lot more naturally when the switch is just an -italic- rather than a perspective shift.
I am also imagining your icon saying this and am happy. Cheers, Harold!
