#swipe . . World AIDS Day highlights the success of worldwide efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, as well as the importance of continued support for these efforts. @emoryuniversity has marked the occasion with the annual Quilt on the Quad, the nation's largest #collegiate display of AIDS Memorial Quilt panels. Today our Community Relations Director had the chance to see the quilts and interviewed Roddy Williams Director of Operations of AIDS Quilt- Atlanta. @aidsmemorialquilt @aidsquilt. . . . “Growing up in Indy in the early 90’s i heard about a young kid name Ryan White who became infected with HIV from a contaminated blood transfusion. Ryan wasn’t allowed back in school because HIV/AIDS was poorly understood by the general public at the time. Today i had the chance to view a handmade quilt panel in honor of him. It was beautiful”, said Jae. 🙌🏽 . . Visit @theatlantavoice #Instastory for to see Jae’s interview and the to see the amazing quilts. #TheNamesProject provides balm for the painful wounds of grief, pours oil into the waters made turbulent by controversy, opens eyes that refuse to see and enlists every person who experiences it to play a role in stopping the pandemic.
