Mario Bava’s IL Medallion Insanguinato, the Cursed Medallion, or The Night Child, the script he made to immolate the USA film the exorcist, and the very first script banned in Italy in 1971 at the start of the Horror Ban, and not allowed to be filmed. I had told him that if they ever let you make it, I want to be a part of it, in any way. In 1984 they finally allowed the film to be made. When I came on board he wasn’t sure what part I could play, but after talking I started working on the ghost effects. I was inside the table under the floor with a magnet spring and release lever to make the knife fly across the table and stick where Nicoletta would eventually pick it up. Nicoletta came in screaming at Mario, that she was supposed to be able to work with me, he promised I would be here and where was I. Mario said Chris, say hi to Nicoletta. And I pulled the lever and sent the knife flying on the other side of the room. Then he walked her over to the table, opened the panel and I smiled up at her. After much talk a nightmare scene was added to the script and Nicoletta and I shared the scene. I truly can understand her feelings, she is younger than me, and I have many friends in film that are older than me, that though we did films together, we were seldom in the same scene or with equal parts, she and I did many films together, but I think she was only really happy when we were interacting with each other in the same shot. I still think the world of her, and cherish all of our memories together. #mariobava #horror # nicolettaelmi #ilmedallioninsanguinato #thecursedmedallion #thenightchild #christopherstewart #alexhydewhite #jonathanbrandis #shanebriant https://www.instagram.com/p/BtsB1LzDDLw/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dhyv9atqkl8p
