I'd like to apologise on behalf of the dumb Americans in your notes... They are confusing Portuguese with French and Hebrew because they are hearing the nasal vowels, that's it. English has no nasal vowels at all, so it really stands out to them, and they have heard those same sounds in French/Hebrew... Still, we are very stupid, I'm sorry. :(

I hate him for more than just practical electoral reasons. He once called gay rights “gonad politics”. Asshole.

obviously this is a legitimate reason to be pissed at him and i'm sure there are a lot of others - i really barely know anything about him. it's just that you get this stuff from democrats that has very little to do with his politics or even him as a person - it's just about how he's bad because he's "divisive" or "extreme" or much more likely you get a reference to the 2000 election in florida - instead of focusing on stuff like electoral fraud you get this idea that really what let bush in was that some people voted nader

like yeah it's totally legit to criticise him and i'm sure i would if i knew more about him it's just when you see criticism which is basically "it's bad to criticise democrats" it's laughable
