Interview: The Nyx
We interviewed Becky of The Nyx ahead of their main support slot at The Victoria in Dalston on 17th May.
Favourite gig you’ve ever been to?
I saw this band at Reading festival like 8 years ago, the singer climbed up about 30 foot on the inside of a tent into the middle of the crowd. Then he asked for someone to chuck a pack of cigarettes, which he put all 20 of in his mouth, lit them, then ate them. He spent half the set sat on the keyboardist’s shoulders, which he jumped on from behind without the dude even flinching. And he sang like Freddie Mercury. My little mouth was dropped to the floor like I FCKIN LOVE ROCK N ROLL.
Favourite gig you’ve ever played?
On the terrace of the Houses of Parliament where we got a noise complaint from the Houses of Parliament and said a naughty swear word in front of the MPs.
What was the inspiration behind your band’s name?
Nyx is the greek goddess of the night and all round bad-ass biatch

We’re in the midst of a fat change and we’re basically switching everything The Nyx once was. We’re currently fine tuning the sound, and actually feels like we’re getting an album together. All will be revealed soon…

We’re doing this gig with me on bass because we haven’t found our other missing member yet woooo experiMENTAL
