I just finished reading Homebody, a book recommended by Alice Oseman that recounts the author's journey of self-discovery. I loved it; I think we have quite a lot in common, and I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Thanks! 💖🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Books 3 & 4 for the trans rights readathon: Mooncakes by Wendy Xu and Homebody by Theo Parish.

Both graphic novels that have been on my list. Mooncakes is very sweet (features a nonbinary character) and has a fun storyline about a witch and a werewolf.

Homebody is about Theo’s journey in understanding who they are. It’s really well done and covers elementary school to post college in their life. I found it really helpful in understanding things that matter that I might over look.

It's day 12 of Queer Creativity, where I share some of my favorite queer media every day for pride!

Today is actually a more recent find, submitted to me by my lovely friend @no1likemickey :) this is Homebody by Theo Parish

Summary: Homebody is a memoir in graphic novel form, sectioning Parish's life and journey of self discovery. Parish talks about all the things that makes them themself and the journey to get to a place that makes their self feel like home. Most importantly, they point out how everyone's journey is different, and no matter the journey you take, you deserve to feel at home in yourself.

This was a really fun read in a very hopeful way. It reminds me a lot of Genderqueer, which I've already discussed, and other stories like it. It has a lot of cute moments I enjoyed (for instance, as a huge cosplay nerd I loved the comic con section:). Parish's storytelling really feels uplifting, like they're rooting for you just as much as you're rooting for them. Overall, super fun! (Everyone thank Mickey for the rec :D)
