Theo is our "Throwback Thursday" Ian character of the day! Here he is in gif form. So lovely!
Happy Throwback Thursday! Here is a little Theo Stoller for you! Wish Theo would have been in more episodes of "24" but this is good too! Very good!!
Back in 2006, Ian appeared in 2 episodes of “24″ playing a man named Theo Stoller. Theo was an agent of the German Federal Intelligence Service who was working on an undercover operation. This role is definitely one of our favorite guest appearance roles that Ian has done!
One of our favorite Ian characters of all time! Theo Stoller! We needed more of him!
FlashBack Friday to 2006 with Ian guest starring as Theo Stoller on 24.
Theo/Collette number 11 please? ;>
“You don’t need to protect me.”
-
She storms past him once they return to the temporary safe house, fuming and furious as he follows in after her with a sigh. His hands are still shaking with the adrenaline, yearning to touch her, but her body is like a live wire, sparking with irritation, wholly untouchable.
It takes a few tries, but he successfully locks the front door, latches the deadbolt, and shoves his hands deep in his coat pockets while she tosses hers in the closet.
"Collette-"
"What the hell were you thinking?” she hisses, spinning on her heel, stalking towards him like a panther, so sleek and dangerous, ready to attack. “You could have been killed!”
Theo exhales steadily through his nose and averts his eyes from the fiery pools of hers. She has a right to be angry with him, he knows that, knows that if the roles were reversed, he’d be enraged with her. But he doesn’t regret it, he can’t, not when it’s her safety is at risk.
"Do you trust me?"
His eyes flicker back to her at that, confusion creasing his brow.
"What does that have to do with-"
"If you trusted me, Theo, you would have trusted in my ability to protect myself in the field," she growls, close enough to touch, close enough for him to feel the heat of her breath combatting the chill of the night air still clinging to his skin. "But you obviously don’t. Too intent on playing hero."
"That’s had nothing to do with it," he mutters, shaking his head. The image of her trapped under the strong arm of the Russian agent with the gun to her head still too clear and vivid in his mind.
Since Los Angeles, since rescuing her from imprisonment and going on the run with her at his side, life has been a constant blur of looking over shoulders and sleeping with one eye open. Not for a second does he believe they are safe, but not until tonight had they encountered any real threats.
"I could have broken the hold," she sighs, the anger draining, her body drifting in closer, probably having felt the swarm of anguish the moment it hit him.
He was once German Federal Intelligence, it was once his job to lie and deceive for the sake of a mission, to play a role and turn relationships into ruses. He had always excelled in keeping his emotions in tact, his face blank and his eyes empty, but not with her.
She sensed every shift in mood, every change in emotion, and she always knew just how to handle him, how to soothe him when he woke with nightmares or reeked of stress. It terrifies him how well they fit together, how she fills all the empty spaces he never knew existed; it terrifies him how easy it can be to lose her. How close he came today…
This is exactly why getting close to people has always been something he avoided, but his feelings for Collette had snuck up on him during those months of romancing her for the sake of a mission that would ultimately change his life. He loves her too damn much to save himself now.
"Theo."
"I know you could have broken the hold, I don’t doubt your skill in the field, Collette, but I couldn’t - the moment he pulled the gun on you-" He purses his lips. "I couldn’t see past it."
"So sacrificing yourself was the solution?" she snaps, not quite as harsh, the flecks of gold sizzling in her irises but not burning, the hands at her sides rising to clutch at the lapels of his coat, tugging him into her.
She was good at that too - eradicating his natural defense of avoidance with her touch, her insistent hands always seeking, drawing him back to her.
"I wasn’t sacrificing-“
"Throwing yourself in front of a bullet, trying to wager your life for mine, what do you call that?" she hisses, but her bottom lip is trembling. "What’s the point to any of this if-"
She pauses, hesitation blooming in her eyes, but she pushes past it, glides her cool hands to palm his cheeks.
"Whats the point if I don’t have you?" she murmurs, brushing her thumb back and forth along the delicate skin beneath his eye while her gaze remains determined but soft, ardent as it roams his face.
He knows he’s not off the hook, so to speak, knows that there’s still more to say, to talk about, but she welcomes him when he lowers his mouth to hers, opening for him on a hum and dragging him impossibly closer with the fingers she tangles in his hair. He doesn’t break the kiss as he bends his knees, slipping his hands to the backs of her thighs and hauling her up into his arms.
"You don’t need to protect me," she whispers, breathing hard and pressing another kiss to his lips. "Not like that. We’re a team, remember? Partners."
He kisses her hard, hoping she can understand through the bold stroke of his tongue, the rough scrape of his teeth, what it means to him.
He’s never had a partner, never knew how badly he needed one until he found her.
"Partners," he echoes as they reach the bedroom doorway, relishing in the smile that paints her lips.
"Good," she purrs, tightening the legs around his waist and nuzzling his nose with her own. "Now remind me just how well we work together."
