I'm so stoked to be back on the mats and with a great team. The first night back there were 4 black belts and many other high ranking students in the fundamentals class. They've been very welcoming and helpful. At the spring promotions it was a big surprise when Professor Harold presented me with my blue belt. It means a ton to me. There have been so many people along the way starting with @gpoopus who wrangled me on to the mats after Conner was hooked. I'm grateful for the many high level coaches and training partners at Eugene MMA both in the gi and 10p no gi that took the time to help me advance. The one dude that pushed me all along is @laughingbadger . We started at the same time and he was my solid training partner for over 2 years. Even when I took time off over the last 2.5 years he stayed in touch and consistently asked when I'd be coming back, without pushing too hard. I also appreciate the constant stream of chonky raccoon clips he sends my way. Same lake, different week. I had an audience of some geese, as well as the usual crowd of seagulls on the beach today. They all seemed spectacularly unimpressed. It was 41 according to the Jeep’s dash. Spent about 4minutes in the lake. There was this one question:

a) Give him some food and leave quickly. You don't want any trouble from a jerk like that. b) Give him some food and leave. But you're going to tell on him later. c) Give him some food and follow him to his house so you can later get him back by doing something rather nasty. d) Give him half your food and invite him to sit and talk with you, maybe you can befriend him. e) Give him a nice fist in the face. Nobody steals from you.

 ... but there's no frickin' way I would have given some demanding guy food just because he's big. Seriously? I wouldn't punch him, either. I'd stare at him. You are being a child. Grow up and find your own food, or ask nicely.
