SOCIAL DISTANCING DAY 179. 1. & 2. On Sunday mornings we extend Phoebe’s walk to the river, and between the old cemetery and the riverbank is this retaining wall, and she hilariously does fast “fancy model walkin’” if you lift her up onto it. 3. & 4. They put all these distracting banners with Nature quotes from #hoosierauthors along the White River railing and while I might agree with having them there in principle I find myself looking at them instead of Nature (there are 2 #vonnegut quotes but I didn’t see any #theodoredreiser—IU professor #scottrussellsanders is well-represented), so it’s a net negative I’m afraid; 5. There was a biker rally to raise money for a sick child with delicious smelling BBQ in the back of this American Legion building (I *think* that’s what the building is). As we passed I snapped this shot and Marj said, “Oh don’t take pictures, you’re a guy in a mask taking pictures of bikers.” I wear my mask now outdoors all the time because it helps with allergies and it’s handy. Later we were two blocks away and they roared off on their fundraising ride and it was a beautiful day and there were so so so many of them it was kinda inspiring even if I normally object to loud #harleydavidson exhaust noise—this was stirring and different, a parade; 6. In the yards over by the houses near the river you see all kinds of stuff—this yard communicates many emotions; 7. We got home from the #dogwalk and marveled at how well the ferns are doing—too well, really. They’re huge. 8. Also when I took the bag of poop back to the trash can I marveled at the moss, rejuvenated by a rain we got overnight. Just celebrating, the moss was; 9. Max was living his best life as I tried to write scripts and digital banner headlines all afternoon; 10. I did walk to the gas station and buy Marj peanut M&Ms. I prefer plain.
