He was devastated, as many were, when Star Trek was taken off the air. Life goes on, and Brian goes to college, gets married and is employed as a police office in the San Francisco Bay area. During his career as a police office, Brian used his skills from writing, due to report-writing requirements, and began to sketch out a science-fiction story that he had been mulling over in his imagination for quite a while. He ended up writing out approximately 150 or so pages on his Tandy 1000 desktop computer and stored the pages on a 5¼-inch floppy disk. He aborted that mission, until after retiring from the Police Department, and found himself revisiting that story.
