VALENTINE'S PHOTO SESSION... Here are a few pics from one of my Valentine's photo packages. This couple came from out of town and used my package for a "Couple's romantic" session. Leaness Quinteros gave me permission to post their photos! I had such a great time with these two and their daughter came. It made for a fun day. I did Leaness's hair and makeup and then we did some romantic and sexy shots of her and her husband. They really were great in front of the camera. I guided them with my ideas and they fell into it like pros! Every couple should do this, for these will be keepsake photos for them to look back on forever. This is the way I think portraits should be versus the standard posed shots. I played music and they were playful and fun! A lifetime of memories for them! There are so many more great ones, and I am excited to edit them! If you thought of doing my Valentine's packages, but didn't, I haven't taken them down from my website yet. On this gloomy and cold day, I decided to do a special romantic and elegant photo session of Turk. I love doing romantic lighting on him, and we also did some together. I love this one of him alone, for he has the most adorable profile. We were both a bit gloomy today, so this was fun spending time with him. He will sit for as long as it takes as he loves to have his photo made. Dogs and laughter are the best medicine and Turk gives me great laughter for sure, and he thinks he is a supermodel....which he is, of course. ;) Dogs are the best! I am thrilled that I did this last portrait of Stella and Turk just a couple nights before she went to heaven. I can't imagine how I would feel had I not done that. I had been meaning to do it for a while. We delay things, thinking we still have time and yet time slips away into regret when we don't act now. Our pets are part of the family and when they leave us, it leaves a cloud of sadness that lingers for quite some time. These two lit up my world through some very tough times and they got along so well together. Turk was the alpha for sure, and Stella was his protector and protected me as well. Stella was like a little earth angel that clung to me as she had a difficult past, I could tell. She had an instant connection with me when she wandered into my backyard years ago. I believe dogs come into our lives, just as people do, for a reason and a season, and they bring us great joy. As I look back on my past pets, I wish that I had some professional photos of them as well. It is something that I regret not doing, but now I make sure that I do. A picture is worth a million words to me, and these two are worth the time I spent over the years photographing them. Stella was a clown in front of the camera. Every time I pointed the camera at her, she would turn her head. I would laugh, and that only made it worse, as it was as if she knew that she was making me laugh, so she did it more. I had to be quick with her, so I was thrilled to get this shot with her looking forward! They were so cute together when they would play fetch. Turk would bark his head off at Stella when she would get the ball, and eventually, she would give it up. She was a good sport with him. I have people tell me they would love to get their dog's photo made, but they don't think their dog would sit still, etc. Believe me, the best photos I get are just by letting the dogs relax in my studio and take my time. It is usually the owners that are impatient. Another gorgeous photo of Addy. Addy came to me back in the spring. She wanted to become a model and learn, so she hired me to do her portfolio. Addy is a natural and because she is easy to work with and shows ambition, I have enjoyed helping her as much as I can. Modeling is an art and not everyone has the natural ability, but Addy does. This is also a great thing to do for any woman who wishes she had photos of her in a favorite formal gown: Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, or the woman who goes to formal affairs and never has a beautiful portrait of her in her gown.
