Pip grumbled a little bit and eased away-- without much intent-- from Sha Lin’s hands, patting and pulling at his cheek fluff as if trying to make him smile. It was stupid; a shattered vial, some polymorphed mice, his potion launcher missing, and now, to add insult to injury, Sha Lin mocking him!

Pip headcanon: he likes warm clothes that are too big for him, which also contradicts his want to be taller. But he just likes the warmth of a very large coat too much that it overshadows the want most of the time (but not all the time)

I mean, what’s the point of being tall when you can be short and comfortably warm?
