One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon.

So, starting from the beginning:

1.) I love Anders. Like... down to my core. I appreciate him and identify with him and these things can coexist with being upset with him-- but a lot of the little reasons that I might be upset with him, I have long since reconciled as being more about the writing of DA2 and less about Anders himself. But yes, I love him.

2.) Karl [obvs], Fenris [really a lot], SOME Hawkes but not all Hawkes [I’m picky and I’m allowed to be picky; only really mage!Hawkes and I’m more likely to ship him with a Marian than a Garrett, tbh], VARRIC, and Nathaniel. I would definitely entertain others being added to this list on a case by case basis.

3.) Varrric. 100%. They are such good friends, pretty much right out of the gate, and it means a lot to me.

4.) OH BOY it’s been a while since I wrote about THIS. I think that Anders was right to take direct action. He tried, for ten years, to change things peacefully. I’m not a violent person, but when your very existence as a person is constantly vilified and degraded and literally weaponized against you and those you consider your family... well. I know how that feels. I can’t bring myself to hold it against him.

5.) Just one? I mean, I have a whole big long list of things I wish NEVER happened to Anders. I guess, if I had to pick one it’s really split-- between him just getting to retire away from all the bullshit, and him getting to be in DAI and actually have the fucking agency that he was fighting for.

Also! Tell me about these Voldemort thoughts you've been having. X3 Would you have gone to the dark side for him? Or, would you simply not have been able to kill him had you been given the chance to?

omg okay so Voldemort– this is such a hard question to answer, because OBVIOUSLY looking at it.. well, not objectively because we’re never given the right view to go into this world without an OPINION ABOUT VOLDEMORT, really... but that’s my point. When we jump into the story, we know who the bad guy is. But if you had lived at that time, obviously it was fairly easy to get sucked in by this guy. He’s one of the only people in the story ever canonically described as good looking, he’s very charming and persuasive, and I know what my specific weaknesses are.

So, ‘would I have gone dark side’? I dunno. I want to say no, because I am deeply, morally opposed to everything he’s ever done. But in the early days of Deatheater-dom? Might I have been seduced by the whole thing? Maybe. Very maybe. It would probably come down to my lineage and upbringing, just like anyone else in that world/time. I highly doubt I would have been immune to his [pun intended] charms.

As for if I could kill him-- that’s a moot point, since I’m pretty obviously not the Chosen One. XD I mean, come on, my birthday is in September.
