LA power trio Jr. Juggernaut is debuting the video for the single "Everything I Touch" off the upcoming album 'Another Big Explosion,' out on Aug 9th. The LP marks their 1st release with Mindpower Records, & the 1st to feature bassist Noah Green (of L.A.'s The Pretty Flowers).

Today's the day our album Golden Beat Sessions is officially released. We had a lot of fun learning these songs, recording the album and working with @andrewjschubert at @goldenbeatrecodingstudio. These songs also mark the first recordings with @otikrecords on drums. 😎 After we recorded these songs I came across an R.E.M. live bootleg called Do You Remember. It's from a Halloween 1983 show where the band did a bunch of covers. Not their finest moment by any means, but I really liked the artwork and, though we don't cover R.E.M on this record, it still seemed to make some sense to reuse it for our record. A cover cover of a covers cover record, if you will. @samidrasin was able to perfectly recreate the photos with the band and @severalsins did the graphic design and layout. Forever grateful to those two for their artistic help over the past few years. Thanks to @dirtcultrecords for the cassette release. Link in profile to listen. Our covers album Golden Beat Sessions is out today. These are songs that got stuck to us along the way and mean a lot for different reasons. John Cassavetes said that love is a stream—it’s continuous. Music feels like it’s that way too. It builds on the past, it repeats, it’s copied, it tumbles over itself and appears new again. It overflows and it crashes into walls. Music can’t be broken though, and the power of it can honestly make your life better.
There’s a fine line that a band takes when covering a song, trying to stay true to the original while bringing something new to the table so it doesn’t sound redundant. This is a very hard line to stay on, especially when covering someone as iconic as Warren Zevon, but The Pretty Flowers have some how even made the song sound somewhat their own.
Coming off their new album covers Golden Beat Sessions this take on Warren’s song, puts the rest of the album high up on my radar of things to check out, and I highly recommend you do the same.
