1. what is your favorite website other than tumblr(if it is tumblr)?
Besides tumblr and google, my next most visited site is youtube. My favorite youtubers are carrie hope fletcher and vihart (seriously watch vihart's videos, she's the best)
2. what is the feature you notice on a person first?
Probably their hands or feet. I'm really bad about looking at people's faces, even when they're talking. I know people think i'm being rude but really i'm just shy or whatever.
3. is there any music from your past that you’re embarrassed about now?
Not really. I live by this philosophy of liking what I like and letting other people like what they like without judgment. I think as long as you recognize the problematic elements to whatever you like, you're golden. Anyway, I liked avril lavigne, hilary duff and jessie mcarthy when I was little, then later rock, and now I like pretty much anything except country and sexist rap.
4. i like the role model question so stealing that one. who is a role model for you or someone you look up to in your life?
I don't really have any good role models in my life. My mom, I guess cause she's worked really hard in life but she isn't happy so I don't want to be like her. And it's the same with all the other adults I know. I guess my biggest role model type thing has been to live by the phrase “i do the best I can with what I am given.” I try to make the most out of life with whatever I have at my disposal: friends, family, work and school etc.
5. do you have any siblings? how many and how old?
I have a sister who turns 19 at the end of may, and probably a whole host of half-siblings I don't know about, but I try not to think about that too much. *insert daddy issues rant here*
6. what is a random story from your childhood?
This is like when someone asks your favorite song and you can't think of anything other than it's a small world. um. ok. When I was little, my friend had a tree that we liked to climb but we got it in our heads that it would be awesome if the tree had a ladder to make it easier to climb. So we got some nails and boards and began nailing them at intervals up the tree trunk. At one point, a nail got stuck in a board and we needed to take it out for some reason so I took the hammer and hammered the point to push it back through the other way, but I missed and hit my hand on the nail point with all the force that I meant to use on the hammering. Long story short, it bled a whole lot and I almost fainted, but we got the ladder built and it's still there today, though someone else owns my friend's old house now.
7. what is your favorite item of clothing and why?
I have a red plaid shirt that I bought for an amy pond costume and its just so awesome and comfy and warm and it makes me feel safe.
8. what do you never leave the house without?
My ipod and knitting so I don't have to talk to anyone I don't want to, my cellphone even though I'm actually petrified to answer when it rings, and my wallet for gas money or whatever
9. if you could learn one talent or skill what would it be
I tend to think that people who say “I wish I could do fill in the blank” really mean “i wish I could do fill in the blank without the effort to learn it” cause you gotta work to learn a talent or skill and no one wants to do that. So I guess my “if I could do fill in the blank without having to make the effort to learn” would be guitar and art, cause i've tried teaching myself both and I don't have the motivation to suck really bad for a really long time before I learn to get better.
10. do you have a favorite place to go? if so where is it?
The summer between my junior and senior year, my family went on a road trip of the US for a month, and I think my favorite place we went was the olympic national forest. We camped by a river filled with rocks/stones and it was really pretty and quiet and nice. Once i'm finished with my degree I'm considering moving to the seattle-tacoma area (maybe nearer to forks cause it's quiet, though i've been and let me just say that town is bonkers since twilight became famous) to teach.
I'm gonna tag tsi, jen and caroline:
my questions:
what does your room look like (is it messy or clean, color of the walls, do you like it, etc)?
share an embarrassing moment from your childhood/ teens
what is your favorite thing about yourself?
What is the personality trait you admire most in others?
Share a book/movie/song that has changed or shaped your life and why
Do you have any interesting scar stories?
Favorite Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks etc movie?
What is the most beautiful memory you can think of? (IE if you were harry potter, what memory would you use to make a patronus?)
What is your favorite thing to do when you're sick or upset?
When you go traveling, is there anything strange you bring with you (for example, my mom is terrified of flying and she can't get on a plane without the blanket I knit her)?
