thequeenwino replied to your post: wow man, my parents. sometimes. my little sister...
same. i’m pretty sure i’m going to marry a black dude and my mum told me long ago that if i did that she’d never talk to me again so i mean i dont even know
Wow! Okay, no my parents aren't like that! My parents aren't racist, but like most of us white folk, can say and/or do casual racist things that aren't viewed as racist in most white people's eyes - myself and my sister were just trying to explain casual racism to my parents but they got on the defense saying we were being reverse racist and etc you know the drill lol. No matter how many times we said "yeah, we were/are like that too, but we listen and learn and now we try to fix our fuck ups" - it doesn't matter because all my parents hear are "you're a disguting racist pig." haha

I just tried to post a comment to your post, but the message turned out to be too long and I'm afraid it was shortened automatically or replaced by some other part, so just in case I'll post it here, because otherwise it doesn't make sense. Sorry for being dumb, I don't use tumblr that much(
Dear thequeenwino, I'm glad that my words meant something to you. Your and your family history may give the false idea that this is a normal thing to happen – not rape of course, but what it causes in the end: fear, inability to trust people, feeling of helplessness, cutting out all the emotions, feeling of having been robbed of one's dignity. Moreover, all the media we are surrounded by, books, movies, songs, all the social networks reposts and quotes etc. just promote hopelessness and despair and the notion that these are natural to experience pretty much whole of our lives. But all this is just a big fat lie. No matter what has happened to you, no matter where you've been, what choices you've made and how bad you may feel, you're still the same person you were the day you were born, and you have the same right to be respected, loved and cared for. And this right can never be taken away, because this is a natural-born right, this is just something that defines a human being. Love and care and respect must abound in your life, especially after you've suffered so much
are you pregnant?
