“Michael, hasn't been himself lately. Thinking of maybe taking him on a trip or something to snap him back into himself.” Ryan told Geoff, arms crossed over his chest. “As long as I got the okay with us leaving for a few days, i’ll probably get things going for tomorrow.”

Meg didn’t usually talk much in her sleep. It was the occasional unintelligible sounds, and his name. Tonight wasn’t much different. She usually tried to wait up for him, but had fallen asleep before he made it to bed. She was tossing and turning, stuck in a nightmare. It was one she wouldn’t remember in the morning, but at the moment it was terrifying. Her voice was barely over a whisper. “Don’t leave. I need you. You’re the hero.”

ryan sighs at the younger’s response, shaking his head slightly. “yes, anyone can blow shit up, but no one could possibly bring what you can to the table. you’re impeccable in every sense, i promise you.”

his fingers gently rub over michael’s hand & slowly, he lifts it to press a kiss to the back of his palm. “it’s okay to be tired. if you need a break, all you have to do is let us know. none of us are going to berate you for not feeling up to it. what can i do to help, michael?”

it’s when they’re lounging on the couch, michael’s legs laid over his lap while he looks down at them & traces the lines of his jeans when he speaks, catching his attention. with a tut, ryan looks to the other rather than where his eyes were previously drawn to. one of his hands grasps one of michael’s and he smiles softly. ryan was never one to succumb to feelings, probably never would be, but somehow michael seems to tap into his weaknesses and draw them out of him- in the nicest way possible, of course.

“i would never, michael. who can replace my little dynamite boy? impossible.”

“Vinnie,” a little whine hidden behind a small cough, Michael smiled softly while he reached out for the other. “C’mon, I love you and all, but you’re not allowed to go back on your word- we’re still gonna work on a schedule for swapping spots.
