hi so my therapist recommended these activities and i thought they were helpful for people struggling :)
first: write down things helping you notice that somethings off (mine below for example)
-reading the same book over and over again: because i knew how it ended and didn’t have to worry about what would happen
-not leaving my bed unless necessary: totally unhealthy habit, clothes and blankets and stuff strewn all over my bed, it was a mess and i let it be (not good)
so that’s the gist of it just list 2+ things that are keys to you getting bad (different for everyone so don’t feel like it has to be the same as mine or someone else’s)
activity two: list things that helped you get better
-going on walks every day: the fresh air, feeling the earth under your feet/shoes. amazing honestly
-letting people i love know that i needed some space: they were (mostly) respectful of that and left me alone unless they had a reason to bug me, it was really sweet of them
there’s more but you get the gist of that activity just write as many as you can think of, even if it’s just one :)
activity three: list one thing a day that makes you happy or greatful (or more if you want to!)
for example, mine yesterday was “it made me happy when my mom cooked her fettuccine alfredo. it feels like home to me and i loved it.” it can be literally one thing. the littlest thing like “i got out of my bed and showered” or “i put my clothes away” whatever it is, it’s progress, nothing is small or stupid or cliche, if it made you happy write it down
but yeah just thought i would share
PS- i didn’t get better in a week or a day, it took time, it happens slowly but surely. just be patient with it and notice the little things that are happy or better
