Do you guys know how hard it is to find decent things inside one of my characters? They’re generally shitty people, and the things I like aren’t exactly positive traits. I shall try, though.
He’s a walking contradiction, in spite of his beliefs. He speaks of humans not having a purpose, and acts as such… Yet simultaneously, he musters up enough motivation every day to pull himself off the floor— if only to find his wife and daughter’s killer. His lust for vengeance is his purpose, and I still don’t think he fully realizes this.
He has the will power to fully quit his addictions, and he’s done so in regards to harder drugs. -But he { chooses } to keep drinking, even though he could quit if he truly held the desire to. He knows it’s an addiction, he knows it’s destroying him from the inside out, and he invites it in.
He’s one of the most open minded characters I’ve had, but in such a pessimistic way. He willingly listens to other people’s perspectives, and even tries to understand their thought process….. Now whether he agrees is an entirely different story, but he’ll never openly shame someone for what they believe.
He doesn’t have much fire left inside of him- so the few things that do ignite something in him, he fully invests in. He’s already had the dream life that he put everything in to, and nothing else will really compare. So when something does interest him, it’s kind of a big deal.
Wes truly doesn’t despise anything as much as he hates himself. The self-loathing and torture he puts himself through daily is so heartbreaking.
