[Key! I need your help! I need your expert guidance thingy-giggy. You know I going to be in my first musical end of next month! I need pointers and direction and probably need to relax but I'm too excited nervous. My emotions are everywhere. Please help me, my dearest key to my heart.
` ㅂ ´ ┊ Yeah, you need to relax.
Relax and rehearse your lines. Thisseems obvious, right? But what I mean is to really read your script until youknow your character like the back of your hand. When you’re on stage, the last thing you wantto be worried about is remembering your lines. What I’m going to say next mayseem like a contradiction but- don’t worry so much about what you say, but howyou say it- this has to do with knowing your character. Like, if you’re playinga rebellious teenage girl she’s going to have more bite than a quiet bookwormcharacter, right? So the dialogue needs to feel natural and fit the screenplay and character motivation-that’s very telling.
There’s no editing to correct your mistakes when you’re in front of an audience,so please recite your lines morning noon, and night. Being in character willhelp you react appropriately to ad-libs, the first time can be daunting—I’m notperfect either—but, like I said, know your character. Oh and listen to your sunbaenims; watch a lot of musicals if you’replanning on getting serious about this kind of work. Watch the classics, both Korean and American to see what people like. Also try to visit therevenue beforehand… So you get a feel for the stage and get use to speaking naturally without amicrophone /
Stop worrying and followyour heart. Even if you fail, that’s a precious experience you wouldn’t have been able to get if you hadn’t tried.

Well, aside from feeling semi-awkward and anti social in such a crowded place, Chanmi had to admit the music was pretty good. Nightclubs weren’t places where she went often, at least not without her unnies or an escort like her manager to protect her. “Ah, I don’t know if I can,” she calls over the music as bodies pushed and shoved to get by her, “it’s too cramped in here unnie...”
