Understanding the reasoning
Perhaps we need to come to understand the reasoning behind other people’s actions, to understand why others choose to behave in the way they do.
Although others aren’t off the hook and it’s wrong when they choose not to consciously concern themselves, they do wrong and still choose not to understand what they do. No one should be on the receiving end of other people’s bad behaviour.
For whatever reason, it’s not okay when people could make a difference and simply choose not to work on their own stuff, to help other people. That’s not acceptable. We’re not infallible. We make mistakes, we are capable of being wrong.
It also depends on what’s been ignored. Some things aren’t easily forgiven. For those of us on the receiving end of what has been ignored, it’s important we come to understand, so that what has happened doesn’t consume our every waking thought.
It doesn’t make what’s been done right, or get others off the hook, but it does stop us from consuming the other person’s negativity, because that can make us ill.
