Virginity isn't a virtue. It isn't like kindness or honesty. It doesn't add anything to your value, and losing it certainly doesn't take anything away.

The Reclaiming, Alice, Day 45
The Reclaiming is written from the vantage point of seven different characters.
Juniper: An endangered woman, who must traverse the desolate wild to escape a life of slavery.
Yuri: A notorious and brutal clan chief who has sixty days to capture Juniper, or be executed and thrown in the bloody pit.
Theia: A domesticated birth slave secretly working for the rebellion.
Roz: A tech Resurrector from a disgraced clan, searching for answers.
Ransom: Juniper’s brother and best friend, harboring a dangerous secret that could destroy them all.
Heli: A young boy abandoned at birth by a desperate, infected woman.
Alice: An infected woman who must save her children before it’s too late.
Writing in this way allowed us to explore complicated issues like feminism, misogyny, misandry, death, gender, technology, humanity, women’s rights, etc. from many different angles.

Juniper Removes Her Tracker - Watercolor by Wanderson Neves.
Another gorgeous piece of book art.
The Reclaiming
Juniper lives her life in a sophisticated high-rise sealed away from the outside world. She yearns to be free, but women like her are a rare commodity, bought and sold in auctions run by ruthless men. A chance encounter sets her on a perilous chase through the desolate wild to escape a life of slavery at the hands of Yuri Wolfe, a notorious and brutal clan chief.
Yuri has never wanted to buy a woman, but his powerful uncle forced his hand. He’d rather spend his coin on quick pleasures than be tied to a fragile, domestic female. Juniper seems as weak as the rest—right until she plants a knife in his chest and escapes. Now he has sixty days to reclaim her before he’s executed and thrown in the bloody Pit.

We wanted something eye-catching and graphic. This captures the tone of the book so well, especially the cityscape of the Desolation. The most incredible cover art ever. Thank you Jeffery Smith!
