Spotlight On: DJ DON BRANDO

Brandon Smith learned this lesson early. Graduating from one of the City of Atlanta’s Top Performing and Fine Arts High Schools, North Atlanta, Brandon went on to attend Clark Atlanta University where he would meet another young rising star to watch, Faron Manuel, a graduate of the nearby Mays High School. Brandon, now a junior at Georgia State University, he continues to perfect his craft. Whether it be composing and producing music, writing short stories and screenplays, directing his next film project, or deejaying under the moniker “DJ Don Brando”, Brandon has always had the makings of the next big media mogul. At age 12, he was an assistant cameraman for a locally televised teen dance show co-hosted by Lil Jon’s BME Recording’s Sabrina Montgomery.
As two of the upcoming pioneers of the Atlanta's Independent film scene, Brandon and Faron hopes to make a big splash in the upcoming months. Through his collaboration with Faron, who remained in attendance at Clark Atlanta University, they plan to release a full length film in the near future. Speaking on the project, Brandon says.
"The first film is a horror film, shot in the first person style. Similar to paranormal activity but I found a way to give the story more of a realistic feel. I don't want to release too much information about though making the movie more intense. But I wrote it, did the music, and directed it. The actors have also been picked and we begin filming Nov1st."
Brandon and Faron also plan to continue with an collaboration efforts, releasing a suspenseful web series this Fall. Faron has been an instrumental part of this collaboration, lending his talents to editing, talent scouting in addition to acting performance skills.
Creativity is not Brandon's only strong point; he is a progressive businessman as well. Onineteen, Brandon's brainchild, has the potential to be one of the largest production companies in the Atlanta area. Onineteen, the name deriving from "only 19" - the age at which Brandon founded the company, is primarily a film production company, with a crossover into the music industry, managing the careers up and coming music artist, Quay and music producer, J Wood, whom both he met in his years at North Atlanta High School. J Wood also attends Georgia State University.

And just wife alone... After posting "The Man, The Ni**a & The Idiot" I was intrigued by a blog post celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie posted. Referring to one of her favorite blogs "Brown Sugar" that posted an article called "Ladies, Stop Playing Wife If Your Man's Not Playing Husband." I didn't read the blog but going off instinct I'm pretty sure I know what it is all about. Women who are playing Wife to men who arent playing Husband....that was simple right? Well little do you all know that this goes in direct corilation with "The Man, The Ni**a, & The Idiot" because the girlfriend to the one who was once my friend is doing exactly that. This man of her's may be playing husband in her eyes but what about in public. Just these women period... SICKEN ME!!
NOW I CANT SPEAK FOR THE REST OF "US" WOMEN...because I am a woman who is playing wife, but this is too a man who is playing husband. This two way street is a beautiful invention, but I can speak for the friends of mine and the past me that would have been ready vent this out. So on behalf of them and my-old-self....
LADIES.... STOP THIS BULLSHIT. You're making "us" look bad. Giving these "men" reasons not to wife up any chick because your already doing the job, but with what commitment. A date here and there to cook is nothing but a everyday breakfast, lunch, and dinner thing and not to mention doing his laundry, taking out his trash, wiping his ass or being his bxtch, which ever one you want to call it, got him hooked on phonics not about you but your housewife skills. MaMa always told me "RAiN don't play wife to a man, go move in with him, and expect it all to turn out ok, GET YOUR COMMITMENT FIRST." And it's not like a ring has to be involved, a promise ring would be nice, but the verbal agreement that this is who we are, this is what we are going to be, and let it be at that.
Let us be better woman and set our standards where they deserve to be, get what we deserve because as women its hard to rule to world with no Superman anyhow. Stop being wives to the one who isn't trying to be your husband. GET YOUR LIFE!!!!

The Man, The Ni**a, & The Idiot
Have you ever heard that a man can have whatever he wants because he has money. Well according to #OOMF (@ThatLuckyDude...sorry to call him out, but not really) he believes that if a man has money hes a "Balling Man", while a man without is just another regular guy......HE'S NOT CONVINCING ME AT ALL. My dispute on Twitter with Mr. Dude was very short and unfortunately, rather impulsive. The conversation was rather intense for the most part....AND HERE'S WHY...
So see I have this friend, she befriended an old friend of mine (when we were friends) and he befriended her the same. Now the juicy details in between and what happened can be summarized in a few words. THERE WAS A ONE NIGHT STAND & HE GOT HOOKED. Now long story short... after this one night stand he got hooked, got back with his girlfriend, what happen to her before the situation is none of mine or yours. Even longer story short.... There are times when he hits my friend up and says how he misses the cooter and he can do all this magic inside, BUT HE IS STILL WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND... Now I'm not the pussy tracker, reporter...whatever, I'm sure he had a blast in what needs to remain his past but he continues his fxckery, while he lives with his girlfriend and she continues on bending over backwards and feeding this cheater. The question was posed on twitter by me "When will he understand that no means no."
THEN IT HAPPENED....
Mr. Lucky Dude decided to not only invade my tweet but speak of fairy-tales that he believe are true. MEN ARE ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT IF THEY HAVE MONEY. Now my initial reaction was to call him an idiot but that was too nice, in my defense, so a fxcking idiot had to do the trick and he just couldn't wrap his head around why in God's name he was called this.. Well Mr. Lucky Dude was in for the treat of his life (want to see how the conversation played out on Twitter... they are as followed).
To conclude the madness of my rant: if you as a man or even you as a woman cannot commit yourself to someone else, especially if you claim this is the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with, IM SORRY BUDDY YOUR IN THE WRONG FIELD OF LIFE. A text as simple as "So when you gon let me hit it again" -or- "You know you miss this" is the same thing as cheating. And people don't look at it this way, but it is. Your not committing your life, your committing your own death sentence because hell hath no fury like the girlfriend that finds out her soon to be husband is still playing around in his dirty laundry. Niggas always claiming their Men, but they do dumb shit like this that makes them a stupid nigga.
