Can we take a minute to appreciate the Star Wars prequels please? I actually love these movies. The Phantom Menace was the first non animated movie I saw when I was a kid. True, I was pretty confused, but definitely entertained. I loved the Star Wars movies before Disney. The prequel movies had more story, character development and originality than Episode 7 and Episode 8 combined.
Also I read somewhere that Episode 8 was original.... like seriously? Sure we haven't seen a Star Wars movie like that (pretty much), but it was still such a stupid plot. A intergalactic spaceship chance was the best the Disney could come up with... I am not that surprised about this one, actually. I am sure that what they did to Luke should be considered a crime. They killed all the character development he got in the original trilogy. Where is the guy who saw the good in his father and refused to kill him even when Obi-Wan said there was no hope for Anakin. Yeah and the he decides to kill his nephew, because he felt darkness in him.
Then people say the prequels are bad. Sure they are cringy and the acting is bad (except in episode 3), the dialogue isn't the best, but the story itself was more engaging than the new Star Wars movies.
What really angers me is when people say that the prequels shouldn't even exist. How can you love a franchise and say that you hate half of the movies. The original trilogy is many people's childhood and the same people hate on mine and many people's childhoods. You can't tell me that the original trilogy didn't have bad dialogue and bad acting, because there is.
