Rest In Peace.

I know this needs backstory and so I’m posting it with this picture. This is a Red Fox, Vulpes vulpes, male, healthy and definitely an adult. He was struck by a car, maintained minimal injuries but was killed on impact. We found him only a few hours later. I live in Australia where this animal is a pest species but regardless, they’re still animals and we still mourned for his loss. What to do? We couldn’t leave him by the roadside so we took him and buried him. I collect animal bones (I only take animals that are already dead, have never killed) and my preferred method of decomposition is burial. I’ve got more pictures of him and ended up with almost all of this beautiful animal’s skeleton, as you’ll see over the following days. ~Lainey

How are you today?

How was your day today? Did you eat? Did you do some exercise? Did you get outside, or at least get your butt off of Tumblr??

On a scale of 10 to shit (1), how are you feeling kin-wise? Are you feeling very connected and at peace, or is there something going on in your life that is influencing your bond??

Take some time from your day to reconnect yourself, to strengthen the feelings between you and that creature, or thing. Take some time – however long you need – to meditate, go for a walk, have a bit of a howl, chew on a toy, or put on your collar or tail just for the sake of it. Try to feel the happiness that is in you, try to become happy about having this connection to something other than human. Smile for me, just for a moment.
