Recently finished watching 'Rise of Empires: Ottoman' on Netflix.. it's amazing!!!"

I'm a big history geek, so I'm not a big fan of conquering armies & conquests & wars/battles knowing the price common citizens/people face is the worst as they're the most affected. But this show has managed to show both sides neutrally, pretty much well balanced, not any hero or villain (even if there is/maybe one).

The cinematography, the powerful complex characters, the large scale scenes, the direction, it all amalgamates perfectly together.

Most of all, loved Giovanni Guistiniani & Therma Sphrantzes' deep love story! In those few scenes together, they've managed to create an undying spark, which stays with you long after show is over.

Will try to write fanfic on them soon on Ao3...

Quinn Hawkins

Quinn is a guy who's spent most of his life trying to figure out where he fits in the world. He's been a smuggler since he was a kid, and he knows Marleybone's underground like the back of his hand. He never became too close with anyone during that time, and still often thinks with a lone-wolf mindset. He ended up in prison on the Erebus after an incident with another smuggler, a radical named Finnigan Fox, who turned him over to the Armada. He and Egg escaped together, and now he's the captain of the Viridian.

Egg Shen

Egg met Quinn on the Erebus, along with Kaitlyn and Subodai. Determined to get home, the two of them formed a pirate crew. Egg is the first mate, and always keeps a cool head on his shoulders. (He's also the only canon companion on the crew so far)

Marie Gold

Marie was also a smuggler as well, and she knows a thing or two about sneaking around. She was working around Port Regal when she met Quinn, but they became fast friends soon enough. She likes to annoy Thatch, and as quartermaster she keeps tabs on the ship and its supplies.

Timothy Thatch

Thatch used to be a fisherman in Jonah Town. Fed up after one too many raids on his boat by pirates, he took up a harpoon and fought back. He was strongly against pirates, but he grew to like the crew soon enough. He ended up joining Quinn's crew, and as helmsman his past experience is invaluable; he is skilled at manning the helm even in the worst weather. There are few things that don't irritate him, but Marie is especially good at getting under his skin. Despite their bickering, they've grown fairly close.

Therma Icebrand

Therma and Juniper come as a pair. After leaving Empyrea, the two of them got themselves into trouble very often (mostly because of brawling). They eventually landed themselves on the Viridian as full-fledged pirates. Therma is a skilled engineer with many years of experience in Outer Athanor, and she works as the Viridian's shipwright. She usually prefers to be left alone to her work, Juniper being the sole exception. She's not one to talk much, but she loves both Juniper and her crewmates very dearly.

Juniper Smith

Juniper is the ship's doctor, and a longtime close companion of Therma’s. She is a big fan of sports, especially Whirlyburly, and used to treat a number of injuries from the latter. Like any other Aero dwarf, she loves a good, clean fight. She has a very bright, optimistic personality, unlike the more pragmatic Therma. The two of them are romantically involved, and everyone on the crew knows it.

Sigurd Vidarsson

Sigurd hails from Grizzleheim; he used to be the navigator on another ship, working on long voyages through Grizzleheim's skies, until he had to retire early due to losing an eye. He loved what he did, though, and it didn't take much to convince him to join the Viridian. He's a big guy and may look intimidating, but he is a massive softie and would never hurt anyone. He absolutely gives the best hugs.
