Thermophobia flag
A fear of heat, including hot weather, water and objects. To avoid heat, they may prefer to live in a cold climate, wear light clothing, stay indoors on warm days, and avoid hot water, foods, and objects.
Colors of red and orange represent the heat itself. The heat is so high that the colors started melting. Torn black cross represents the hate/fear towards the heat. The thermometer shows alarmingly high temperatures.
The opposite is cryophobia, fear of the cold (flag)
If you have a pressure cooker that's 5 years or older, THROW. IT. OUT.
My dad was making some cabbage apple stew (don't ask) in our 13 year old pressure cooker, haven't used it in a couple of years. He was turning down the heat WHEN IT LITERALLY EXPLODED 0__0 Thank god he's ok, the only injury is on his foot but that's only because he fell, the thing was full of boiling water and it didn't even touch him or leave the kitchen. It could have been so much worse.
I really can't underestimate my last sentence. He was literally hovering over the pressure cooker when he was turning down the knob. He could have been a burn victim. DON'T BE ONE, TOO!!!
(As a joke-note to sort of cope with my sort of extreme fear of thermophobia; maybe the pressure cooker did him a favor... I wasn't really looking forward to eating that either.)
gee, i wish i could boil a bag of raviolies without having a panic attack
Hi, I'm an artist. I have thermophobia. The majority of my art interests involve kilns, torches, and soldering irons. Cruel, cruel world.
Daily Phobia: Thermophobia: the fear of heat and/or being too warm.
"I have to wonder if Dr. Victor Fries is more afraid of himself being overheated or his wife. Perhaps I'll have to see for myself, hmm?"
