thescribemc replied to your post “ok, I’m gonna let myself off the hook and stop feeling guilty for not...”
What kind of pizza?
Instead I got a pasta bread bowl from Domino’s (red pepper, spinach, onion) and a side of garlic sauce, and now I’m doing some dailies on WoW with a podcast on, and I feel like this is exactly what I should be doing today.
Rules : List ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
thescribemc, roplusglam, krayday and rozhanitsa tagged me!
I don't know if it's bad form to combine these. I hope not, because I am a lazy butt <3
Rule 1: Always post the rules
Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked, and write 11 new ones
Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post
Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them

thescribemc's questions
1. If you were given the ability to fly, but it could be taken away at any moment. For example, mid-flight over the Atlantic Ocean, would you still fly?
Yessss, having the ability to fly would be amazing. Given that limitation, I might avoid crossing the Atlantic Ocean (: Well, maybe. I'm reckless sometimes, lol, and being able to fly would certainly tempt that.
2. Favorite author and why?
Barbara Kingsolver. She's in no way perfect, but her writing style speaks to me and always ALWAYS inspires me to write. Rabindranath Tagore puts me in the same frame of mind, but for poetry.
3. There is a great flood and you have five minutes to put four people, and only four people in the boat with you. Who do you save?
Oof. My mom, my dad, my sister for sure. Tobey and Lego are dogs and combined are sort of the size of a smallish human, maybe they could count as one person? Hopefully the great thinkers and givers of the world have their own boats because I am going the selfish route here, lol.
4. If I were in your respective city, where would you take me/ what would we do to show me a good time in your hometown?
OMG I WISH YOU WERE IN MY RESPECTIVE CITY AKA ATLANTA PLS COME HERE WE WILL HANG OUT :D Do you like aquariums? I hope so, because we are going to the aquarium. The Coke museum is right next door if you wanted to go there. It's not that great, but sampling Coca Cola products from around the world at the end is kind of horrifying fun. ATL has a ton of restaurants so depending on what kind of food you like we have a lot of great options there. I guess it would depend on what sort of stuff you want to do, tbh (other than the aquarium which is mandatory). There are great parks/hiking nearby, good bars, good music scene. Basically it would be the beeest :3
5. Describe your first sexual experience in a haiku.
lace and lust rustling
quiet, as rain fell soft like
his regard for me
(It was depressing in hindsight but beautiful at the time. I LOVE this question btw)
6. Do you remember any one’s phone number by heart? If so who does it belong to?
People at work don't count imo. I know my parents' phone numbers, and my sister's cell. I remember my two best friends' from middle school's numbers (at homes where the no longer live). That was the last time I really dialed people's numbers, lol.
7. With one word, tell me how the world will end?
deserted
8. Can you tie a cherry stem into a knot with your tongue?
I can't ):
9. Favorite place on Earth?
The beach at Amelia Island, FL
10. (Stealing this from Actor’s Studio because I love it) If there is a God, and it is greeting you at the Pearly Gates, what do you think it will say to you upon your arrival?
"Was it everything you hoped it would be?" and "Where to next?"
11. Favorite word?
fiery
roplusglam's questions:
1. If you could be someone else for one day, who would you be?
My dog Lego. It would be the best day, lol.
2. Top 3 favorite ships.
BAMON, Dramione, Legonnie (the second two may or may not change on a daily basis, but the first one is a constant)
3. Favorite food?
Mashed potatoes. Mmmm. Even the fake boxed stuff. Even KFC. Scratch that, especially KFC. When I got my wisdom teeth out, I ate nothing but KFC mashed potatoes for 3 days and those were the most delicious 3 days of my life.
4. What do you like to do when you’re not on tumblr?
I like to read, mostly. I haven't been doing too much of it lately, though. Need to spend less time on tumblr, lol.
5. Favorite song or band (recommend one :))
I can't pick a favorite. But for one I really like, maybe... Priscilla Ahn's "Dream." (:
6. Favorite quote or motto?
"Beware the barrenness of a busy life." - Socrates
7. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
Music. Every day, all day if possible.
8. Do you prefer watching movies in 2D or 3D?
I like 3D when it's done well (Pacific Rim!) but tbh I usually get lazy (and cheap lol) and choose the 2D option.
9. Have you ever been in another country? If so when? Why? Did you enjoy the experience?
I used to go to India every other year with my family, but that was mostly to see relatives so I don't know if it counts. I've been to other countries since then though: in the past few years, Mexico, Italy, Singapore, Canada, Monaco, Spain. I enjoyed the experiences, there's definitely something to be said for wanderlust.
10. Stranded in an isolated island. You can bring one person and 3 things. What are they? (You can bring celebrity)
Originally I thought my sister, but it's very possible we would kill each other if left to our own devices on an isolated island for an extended period of time. She's type A and would crack way sooner than I would under the general lack-of-things-to-do that such a situation would present.
So upon consideration I'm deciding to take Daniel Gillies. At least you know there'd never be a dull moment. And if he could just walk shirtless out of the water every so often like he did in Bride and Prejudice... we'd be good.
For the things... my computer (do I get internet to talk to tumblr ppl?), a fluffy towel, and my dog Lego? can he count as a thing?
11. Tell me something else you think I should know about you.
I eat way too many spicy boiled peanuts. Waaaaaaaay too many.
krayday's questions:
1. Favorite TV show?
Picking a favorite is hard because I like shows for different reasons, hmm. I think for now the show that pleases me on the most levels is Sleepy Hollow.
2. Any odd hobbies? If so, what?
This isn't very odd I guess but I am a bubble bath aficionado.
3. Favorite thing to do when you’re home alone?
TURN UP THE MUSIC AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE AND SING DANCE SING
4. Furthest place you have traveled?
Singapore's on the opposite side of the world from where I live (full 12 hour time difference), so maybe that. Alaska felt like being on a whole other planet sometimes, though (in a good way, lol).
5. Any tattoos?
No, I get really weird about needles. I kind of want one though.
6. Where in life would you like to be in 5 years?
Honestly? I want to be a bit more settled and starting a family at that point, but we'll see. I'm old ):
7. How did you meet your best friend?
In middle school. I'd just moved to a new town, so I didn't know anyone. We were in 6 classes together the first semester, out of 7 total classes. At lunch the first day I was sitting by myself and looking really sad (so she says), so she invited me to sit with her.
8. Do you drink?
Yup. Not enough to get past the buzzed stage nowadays, but I also drink for the taste of it now, which I never would have thought I would before.
9. If you could have one super power, what would it be? Why?
My answer to this question will always be healing abilities (both myself and others). Sometimes I wish I could read minds, it would make stuff so much less complicated... tho it might also be depressing, I'm not sure.
10. Any phobias? If so, what?
No serious phobias. I will flip out about bugs and spiders sometimes, but not enough to classify as a phobia. Same for needles.
11. Biggest obsession at the moment?
These new boots. Also, leggings.
rozhanitsa's questions:
1. Describe your first crush (either celebrity or in-person, it doesn’t matter):
When I was in the first grade, I used to maintain a lot of lists in my head. Mostly things I was frightened of, so that I could list them all in my prayers (stratified by category of fear) every night as things for God to please protect me and my family from. Anyway, I also kept a running list of my crushes. Because there were a lot of them. I don't remember exactly where it all started, but gonna be real honest right now and admit that I'm pretty sure it was Michaelangelo. The cartoon ninja turtle, I mean.
2. Do you have a lot of regrets?
Not a lot. There are times when I wish I had done things differently, different potentials that I feel like I could or should have fulfilled and maybe I'd be a happier person. But in the end, I like who I am now, and whatever fuckups I made were apparently required to lead me here.
3. Favorite song from a genre you don’t listen to often. Do you know why you like it?
I used to listen to a lot of trance, but not often anymore. My favorite song from the genre is still Markus Schulz' "Clear Blue," because Justine Suissa's voice is perfect and the lyrics still speak to some kind of restlessness in me.
4. Do you have a “bucket list”? If so, name 5 goals on it.
Not a formal one, but I do sometimes think about it. 1. Act in a play or [whispers] musical. 2. Go to Harry Potter World with a friend/friends who are just as excited about it as I am. I'm putting it off until I find such people, lol. 3. Write a book. 4. Build a ballpit-bed. Or an entire ball-pit room. (I came really close to accomplishing this a couple years ago, but those plastic balls get expensive when you need like thousands of them). 5. Find a place to live near the ocean and re-enact scenes from the Seaside Knitters Mystery books with my neighbors/friends.
5. Dream job? I mean it, think outside the box here; the only requirement is that it has to be a real job.
Curator at a museum. I'm in no way qualified and I'm sure it's not as amazing as I imagine it to be, but I imagine it to be really amazing.
6. Biggest pet peeve on tumblr?
Untagged delena.
7. Do you have any phobias? If so which?
I don't have any phobias, I mentioned this in a question above. I flip out about some things (bugs, spiders with fur on them like seriously wtf spiders why, needles), but not to the point where they'd be considered phobias.
8. Name your ‘i’d-go-gay-for’ crush. (Be honest, you prob got at least one)
I have a ton tbh. Lucy Liu and Emma Stone top the list.
9. Favorite seasonal flavor? (For example, I live for the return of salted caramel mocha)
SALTED CARAMEL MOCHA yes <3 Also I like gingerbread flavored things. And pumpkin pie.
10. If you could re-do only one event in your past, what would it be? Get as detailed as you are comfortable with.
One time when I was in middle school, my friend dared me to prank call my crush. So I called him up and made my voice kinda squeaky and pretended to be a 4th grader calling people with a survey for a class project (no, I don't know why I thought this would be plausible). I asked him a bunch of innocuous questions about his favorite color and his birthday... stuff you secretly want to know about the crush you're too terrified to talk to in middle school. And then at the very end I broke down (to the horror of my friend who was sitting there listening to the whole thing) and anonymously confessed my undying love, slipping back into my normal voice. On the other end of the line, he was quiet for a minute. Then he said, "Ok." Then he said, "Is your last name [my last name]?" Of course he had caller id??? He never spoke to me in school even after that, but his mom handed out our band uniforms before concerts (the cummerbunds) and she used to give me dirty looks sometimes.
So yeah, basically I would redo that by just... not doing any of that. At all.
11. Describe your dream concert.
No Doubt, circa Return of Saturn. I was in high school then so I would be wearing my purple plaid flare pants and bright red Curious George hoodie and I'd get pulled up on stage to sing with the band and instead of being terrified and messing everything up I'd kill it and then me and Gwen Stefani would be bffs and I could teach her about why cultural appropriation is super uncool and I could marry Tony. Or Tom. Maybe both.
12. Bonus-overly-intense-ethical-question: Answering this one is completely up to you and at your discretion. I just like throwing really serious topics into these things, just to see.
A woman, her infant and her neighbors are hiding from raiding soldiers in a small room. The soldiers are close enough to hear whatever is going on in the room, as long as they remain quiet enough. The infant has begun to fuss and nothing the mother has tried will quiet the child. If the baby starts to cry, it will inevitably draw the soldiers to their location. If the mother manually stops the baby from crying, by covering the baby’s face, the baby might suffocate before the soldiers leave. Of the mother’s two options, allow the baby to cry and risk capture, or stop the baby from crying, but risk killing her child, which is the least evil.
Oh wow, I don't know the old-school thing that would save everyone and I really don't have an answer for this. My gut instinct is that it would be less evil to quiet the child and risk the one life over the lives of everyone there (including the child), but it doesn't really work like that and I doubt that would be any consolation for the mother if the baby were to suffocate. I don't knooow ):
MY QUESTIONS <333
1. If you could have any single thing for your birthday this year, tangible or intangible, what would you want?
2. What's your zodiac sign? Do you identify with/believe in it?
3. What are you listening to right now?
4. Outside of family, who has influenced you most in your life?
5. What would you consider to be an ideal night hanging out with friends? Going out or staying in, whatever you would consider to be ideal.
6. Describe one of the happiest moments of your life with a haiku. (Shamelessly stealing the haiku concept from thescribemc. I was going to make it a limerick but that seemed unnecessarily cruel).
7. Who was your favorite teacher (any level of schooling)? How/why did they make that impression on you?
8. Can you play any instruments? If so, when did you learn?
9. If you could be any supernatural creature (in any fictional universe), which would you be?
10. Do you like scary movies? Roller coasters? Harry Potter themed amusement parks? (these may seem unrelated but they are not, I assure you)
11. You wake up one morning and the world is changed. Which would you prefer: your life turning into a musical where everyone randomly bursts into song and dance routines, or your life turning into a sitcom complete with bad jokes and pauses for the laugh track?
