no, no, im COMPLETELY okay about the fact that Emerson just wanted to make Khalil laugh so they made a joke about food but Khalil probably had issues with food in the past and was literally unable to be ‘picky with it so he couldn’t find it funny no matter what which sorta hurt Emerson because THEY JUST WANTED TO MAKE HIM LAUGH.
privacy. something virginia deeply missed from her time before she became the president. agents are now like her SHADOW, even in the living quarters this woman can sense eyes on her. she had already complained with chris about how she hated that, and she has definitely noticed most areas she likes to be in, they at least wait farther away from her, or not even in it at all. virginia is in her study now, alone, enjoying the peaceful rest of the night. a long green silk kimono robe is a new piece of hers for when she wants to be wandering around in her pajamas. it falls all the way to her feet, but it also has a huge side gap, giving full view of her legs depending on how she was sitting. considering she took advantage of being alone to put her legs against the arm of the armchair, she's revealing a lot more than she should.
@captainredfields said: “ did you wear that just for me? ”
she was truly so into her report, she didn't HEAR him approach. chris was already standing tall in front of her, even, his own legs almost touching hers, but always leaving it for her to make the move. uncrossing her legs to allow them to brush against his, a devilish smile on her face.
❝ had that been the idea, i wouldn't be wearing ANYTHING at all. ❞ she winks, closing the report to give him all her attention. ❝ where have you been? ❞
sharing a bed with your enemy, you now consider each other ''acquaintances on good terms,'' and your enemy cracks a joke, which you genuinely laugh at, and then there’s this genuine moment in which your eyes meet, and you can tell there’s something there . you then close your eyes and say good night, but your enemy can’t quite rip their eyes away from you + lorenzo and alina
just adding to my brain rot for au!lorenzo and alina, i swear. not that i'm complaining. this is taking place in between s&b and s&s where alina, mal, and au!lorenzo adrik are on their way to novyi zem
"Why couldn't we buy multiple rooms for this voyage?" Adrik groaned and rolled over to face Alina.
"We have to make the money last until Novyi Zem, probably a little longer." She jabbed a finger at his chest. "You could always sleep on the floor y'know if there's not enough room for you."
"Not happening, Sunshine. I slept on the floor on the last ship and my back still hurts. If we're only having one room again, you or your tracker boyfriend can sleep on the floor. Both would be preferable."
"You would have died on the skiff if it wasn't for him, Adrik, so at least have the common decency to call him by his name. His name is Mal and he's just my friend, my best friend."
"What do you consider me? Just out of curiosity, since you surprisingly agreed to let me come along to Novyi Zem with you and Mal." He raised a brow and tilted his head.
"Don't flatter yourself." Alina's eyes rolled, and she lightly shoved Adrik. A quiet thud resonated in the room when his back contacted the wall. "You're an acquaintance, at best. Would say good terms too, but you're pushing it."
"More than I expected, Sunshine," Adrik admitted. "Besides, pushing it is a part of my lovely charm." He adjusted himself once more and laid on his back.
The ceiling shifted in his view as the boat soothingly rocked while it traveled across the calm sea.
"No wonder most people didn't like you at the Little Palace." Alina laid on her back, shoulder-to-shoulder with Adrik.
"Eh, there was more to it. Didn't bother me much. Opinions of those who I thought were below me shouldn't bother me. That's what. . . well, what General Kirigan taught me." He tapped his fingers against his stomach and exhaled slowly.
Adrik's eyes drew to the antlers that peaked out from Alina's shirt, the antlers that were embedded in her skin. The antlers that Kirigan forced upon her.
"Hey." He lightly nudged her. There was a softness to his usual sharp words. "Do you think Mal is ever going to stop bothering the poor captain and crew?"
"Maybe." She snorted. "He'll be Mal the pirate by the time he leaves those poor folks alone."
Adrik couldn't hold back his laughter. It shouldn't have been that funny—it wasn't that funny, but he couldn't help it. He clutched his stomach and curled up.
"Be quiet. Some people are actually sleeping," Alina whispered. The suppressed smile could be heard in her voice as she smacked his shoulder. "Saints, I didn't think the first time I'd ever make you laugh would be such an awful joke. It wasn't even much of a joke."
"Yet it, yet it still made me laugh," he managed through his fit of laughter. Adrik wiped away a tear and faced Alina once more. She had the most confused look on her face, which made it only more difficult for him to stop. "Sorry," he muttered, then sighed once he finished his laughter.
The air felt tense, yet at the same time, it felt lighter than it ever been. Adrik's lips fell neutral. He couldn't pull his eyes away from Alina's. Did he want to, though? No. But he should. Maybe it'd stop making her heart beat so damn fast to where it's annoying. It wasn't hers that was so loud to him.
He uncomfortably cleared his throat. "Night, Sunshine." With his back facing her, he closed his eyes and laid as close to the wall as he could.
Alina's hand hovered inches above his arm. The relaxed state he was once in now was tense, closed. "Night, Adri," she breathed. Her hand returned to her side, but she continued to watch him. It took many long and silent minutes before she found herself closing her eyes, too.
I will never not be over at how casual it is already for these two to share a bed like bruh wtf I feel very uncomfortable sharing the bed with my best friend of nine years because I'm afraid I'd give off gay undertones so dONT YOU TELL ME THESE TWO WERE ALONE IN THE SPIRIT WORLD AND DIDNT ALREADY FUC---
liam: do you remember me blushing when i walked in and you had the thing on - the belly, for the first time, and i was dying to see this belly. and you said “i’ve got it on” and you kind of pulled the bottom of it up and i remember saying to you: “now let’s see the tits!” and you opened it up and i said "they're really good!" and you went: "they're mine!"
*carice and liam both laughing hysterically*
...
and then you said "they're real" and i said "well what did you show them to me for?!""
