It feels so very similar in so many ways; the very respect and friendship between the captains and their first mates (even tho zoro’s title is not offical) is the same.
But with that comes the fear that luffy and zoro will end up in the same way, i don’t want zoro to suffer like rayleigh have done D: Tho it feels like zoro could say the same things that rayleigh did about their captains, they are very similar. But yeah, rayleigh is an awesome old man! I really liked the look on his face when luffy said that thing about being the most free person at sea.
I really do hope Luffy does not go the same way as Roger. I have the hope that Luffy and his generation will be the ones to expose the no doubt sickening deeds of the Tenryuubito during that missing period of history, so whatever they did, they’ll be pardoned by the new regime. And Luffy will leave it all behind to continue his adventure because that’s he knows. The sea and freedom and friends. ^_^

And yeah, I had major feels when I realized Roger’s life would have been too short to enjoy being the Pirate King.What I love is how he turned his execution into the inauguration of a brand new age, guaranteeing that sooner or later, a worthy successor would come along and become the Pirate King in his stead. Spine-tingling thought!

I loved that too about Roger. He must have been a clever guy, a great planner and a charismatic leader to turn his ignominious defeat into a glorious new era. In one speech, he made himself a martyr and acquired quasi-mythical status. Dat Roger.

There is a lot of subtles differences between the subs I watched and yours, for exemple in the one I watched Rayleigh said “ he led a marvellous life as my captain”, I love to notice that sort of stuff ignore me ~
I also love that Rayliegh says to Robin “Perhaps you won’t reach the same conclusion as we did” while talking about the History, it really bugs me….

Oh no, don’t apologise for noticing difference in subtitles. Sometimes it can be really important or at least reveal layers of a character we did not know were there before.
As for that history comment to Robin.... yeah, that was really important, wasn’t it? I wonder if Dragon discovered the truth about the history and has reacted in his own way. Maybe if the Strawhats learn it too, they won’t raise an army to topple the regime, but will do something different.

The infomation in this ep keep appearing again, again and again in every theory threats and posts about One Piece around the web :DAh, and also, you almost reach the Turning point of OP, where dangers get taken up a few notch, and things turn out so crazy you’ll be screaming after every episode. What you have watched so far, I usually call it “the lighter part of the story”. According to some of the older OP fans, OP has always been popupar since its pilot day, but the arc following this arc is what puts OP on the throne of manga kingdom, and hadnt been dethroned ever since, so good luck! Cuz OP definitely moves onto another level after this.

400 was an amazing episode. I can see why the information in it keeps cropping up in One Piece theories to this day. I have been warned that shit is about to hit the fan in this arc and I am sort of ready for it but I can tell the drama and feelz will be strong.
