Do you know any good resources on Islam and learning how to make a male and female Muslim character?
Everything I've just kinda been taught from birth and is very word of mouth/books, and it’s all very different because different Muslims practice their religion differently, so I don’t have any direct links but I can start you off!
There are five pillars of Islam which make you a Muslim and our religious book is the Quran.
There are two main denominations - Sunni and Shi’a. Most Muslims (myself included) are Sunni Muslims, so I do suggest reading into Sunni Muslims rather than Shi’a, just because there are way more Sunni Muslims and it’s a more universal Islamic view. Sunni Muslims can be further split into four schools of thought/belief. A good way to go for research in general would be probably be to pick a school of thought and look into their beliefs and what any Mufti’s (Islamic authority figures) say.
Another place you may want to look are at hadiths, which are stories about our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and maybe even the Taleemul Haq, which contain teachings of Islam.
Edit: it's been pointed out that the wording of this seems like I'm excluding Sh'ia Muslims - I didn't mean it to come across that way! I meant maybe looking into Sunni Muslims as a starting point as they're the majority and you're more likely to have seen their practices in real life. Thanks @dreamoons for pointing it out!
