Well, I'm a little nervous...

this dilemma had me devastated. when I first played through, I was so conflicted on how to get involved and what on Earth was happening that I ran out of time. Since then I've replayed over and over again and found some pretty terrible outcomes (wouldn't have it any other way). there are so many moving parts and people to consider, and in the middle of everything is poor Bo.

I can only hope I did it some justice with this. I may do a larger & more detailed version in a while. I'm very happy with the composition but not the poses.

Cheddar Biscuits!

In search of the quintessential biscuit, I decided to return to the basics. The Joy of Cooking has a bunch of types of biscuits, which I'll work through, but this is the basic rolled biscuit. With cheese, following their suggestions for additions. The cheese keeps the biscuits moist, while they stay simple enough to go with a meal. These are especially good with pork & beans, bringing the pork shoulder/lard biscuit/black eyed peas trifecta to completion.

You know what is right next to biscuits in the Joy of Cooking? Scones, because they are so similar. Next I will try a whole wheat biscuit and cheat my way to scones by calling them dessert biscuits.

Joy of Cooking recipe (there are very clear instructions in the book, but I used the freezer technique from Batch 2 as well!)

2 cups flour

1 cup buttermilk

6 tablespoons lard

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sugar

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (after adding wet ingredients)
