Well it was lovely to wake up to both of these things today... 7 years sober a day at a time ... and a beautiful gardenia blooming at the front door. This is the first flower this plant has bloomed since the hurricanes of 2017. It has taken her two years to recover. And her journey reflects the one I’m on. She barely had a leaf left on her after the beatings from the storms. For a year there she looked almost dead - but I kept watering her and didn’t give up on her. She was obviously doing the work too. Last year she started growing some darker glossier healthier leaves. And then this year she bloomed.
