Currently mourning the heart-destroying disgustingly horrifically sad httyd book edits I know people would make if we had editable content

When the post gets 10 likes so you know you're famous fandom wide

Sometimes I hate writing fics because what if these characters I really love and obsess over are not at all actually like how I write them and I'm completely mischaracterising them for my own selfish and corruptive means does anyone else feel this way like I think about them too much to the point I begin unjustified extrapolation from the original material and the end result is just incorrect

Or am I just strange

I'm glad I wasn't reading the httyd books as they were coming out because I actually don't think I would have survived the wait between 9 and 10 and come to think of it 11 and 12 because what do you mean Alvin has literally won and Hiccup is completely alone apart from dragons and pretty much everyone thinks he's dead and there's no conceivable way anything could end up vaguely alright like oh my gosh that's torturous.

Sometimes I get whiplash when I hear people talking about hiccup in public and then I realise its hiccup haddock not my son king of the wilderwest heir to grimbeard the ghastly son of stoic the vast o hear his name and tremble ugh ugh hiccup horrendous haddock the third and I cry myself to sleep
