"MISS CURTIS!" His voice was resonating with panic and joy. "MY NEPHEW IS ON HIS WAY!"
"WHAT?!" She screeched, panic filling. "Alex w-what should we do?!"
"Sister!" His voice was booming, both excited and panicked. "You must lay down immediately! I'll get a doctor!"
"...I'm not laying down anywhere..." She said in a quiet voice, looking at her brother impassively. "Where did you come from anyway?" She asked toneless.
Her question seemed so preposterous to Alex that he almost snorted. "Of course I am!" The Major declared valiantly, the shimmering flair of his returning. "I requested leave from Central Command - I'm to be stationed here until Further notice!" If anything, Fuhrer Grumman was certainly someone who allowed favours.
Olivier sighed, it was to be expected she supposed. When she'd asked the question, she honestly wasn't expecting him to say that he would stay even if a part of her was certain he would.
He would want to meet to be the first to meet his sister's child and to welcome them into the Armstrong family.
Olivier knew her siblings were more than eager to meet her unexpected progeny, since Olivier having kids was the last thing anyone thought would happen. But there it was, the unexpected always had a way of occurring whether you wanted it to or not.
"Well, all right then. You can stay, even if you didn't run it by me and I could easily throw you out of my fort." Pregnancy must have been making her soft, but Olivier was glad that her brother was staying even if she didn't know why she was. "But I'd expect you to perform the all the duties Briggs throws at you, the North is no where near Central in its leniency as you already know." She said harshly, eyes piercing into her little brother's.
His staying would also give him time to get to know, his new brother in law. "Miles will tell you what to do, so report to him asap."
Her facial expression told him that she too had been made aware of the article. It was time to choose his words delicately, both for the baby's sake and his own. "I was informed," Alex spoke, "by someone from Briggs." But he would not say who - they'd told Alex in the utmost confidence that all would be kept secret. "As for mother and father..." The Major trailed off, managing to keep his gaze on Olivier's. "Yes, they are truly worried. Though perhaps a little... frustrated as well."
"I doubt Father will be worried about me, and I'm certain he'll be more than frustrated with all this. Anyway, I'm fine in case you were wondering. So you don't need to look so grim. Were you plan on staying here until I deliver, Alex?" She asked sarcastically, wondering if he really would stay in order to see the birth of his niece or nephew.

"Unfortunately," Alex began. "News travels fast throughout Amestris. Though I was only made aware by just last night." His tone was serious, something rather unlike Alex; which could only mean one thing. "It pains me to say this, sister, but Mother and Father are worried sick-" as well as furious. Though he wasn't going to tell Olivier that now, given her condition. Let's just say the paper hadn't helped things...
That damned newspaper article! She should have known. Golden brows furrowed dangerously. Of course it wouldn't make things easier, if anything it would make things worse between her and her parents.
"That nonsense in the paper never said anything about my current condition, Alex. Where did you hear it from?" It was true, only the men at Briggs knew about their queen's circumstance, so where did he get his news from? Not that it really mattered.
"Are they really worried sick or are you just saying they are?" She knew her Father would be furious, her mother not as much. But it was a scandal nonetheless, one that affected the Armstrong name and Olivier was going to have one hell of a time with her parents.
"I heard that you may have been overdoing it, Olivier." His brow crinkled. "Is that true?"
Olivier pursed her lower lip, wondering how the hell news had reached her brother whom she hadn't even known about his whereabouts. It looked like a lot of her news seemed to be travelling around lately. And though the information may have been true, she had been following orders and had stayed in bed for more than a week, which was more than Olivier had ever stayed confined to bed before.
"Where the hell, did you hear that from?" She asked sourly.
Taken by the Beast~
Hello everyone! I'm a new reviewer, and you may call me Beast. I just joined this morning so I'm pretty happy about it.
We have the thestrongarmalchemist, an oh so sparkly Alex Louis Armstrong here to be reviewed. Just a warning right now, I haven't watched a lot of FMA, only a few episodes of Brotherhood on Adult Swim. So if I get a few things wrong then please forgive me.
