Greetings all! I know it's been a while since the last update, but a lot has happened so let's get right to it!First and foremost — We have finished mixing! Cue the confetti! Yes, we are proud to say that all the songs on the album are mixed, mastered, and rendered down, ready for the world to listen to! But not quite yet... We've still got about a month to go, so hold tight!Secondly, because we have finished mixing, we have sent the album digitally to a distributor, and secured a license, so now that that's been taken care of, we are technically fully prepared to release the album (digitally at least)! Take a look at that! Our own barcode. Fancy fancy! And lastly, we have finished the artwork for the album! As of right now the front and back covers are completed, but we are still debating whether to add inner artwork. A side bonus of this means that the track order is finalized, so maybe in the next update we can have another reveal with the track names! We've still got some cool things on the horizon, so check back later for our next update!

Just a quick little update on the progress for the album!
Quick update from the studio: tracking the guitar solo for one of the new songs on the album.
In Light of Recent News
I thought I would tell a story/post a rant. I wrote this the day after the Election.
Early this year I began working on a new album. I had written and recorded the skeleton of a full album, which I naively titled “Brighter Days” and which was to be possibly the most pop-minded, happy-sounding album I had ever made. The main guitars and most of the vocals had been completed, and it seemed that I would finish it late 2016 or early 2017. And then last night happened (November 8th, Election Night). It paralyzed all of those aspirations. As soon as I realized the reality of the political situation we, as a country were in, my immediate thought was to scrap it. How could I honestly release a hopeful and bright album in the midst of such a maelstrom of darkness? It felt inappropriate, as I could not bring myself to feel positive about anything. I felt the same way a lot of people felt: disappointed, betrayed, upset, frightened, forlorn, depressed, and hopeless.
But then the morning came. And I awoke. And the sun rose. And the world hadn’t ended. It certainly felt different. But it looked the same. I went to work in the morning, and I realized that even though this thing had happened, it hadn’t really changed a thing. I soon read many inspiring things, and it made me realize it was not a time to give up. Now was not the time to wallow in despair and give up hope. It was a time to pick myself up, carry on, and fight for what I believe in. Even if I didn’t feel bright, it didn’t mean the light was gone from me. So I realized that it was not the time to shelve the happy pop album. It was the time to finish it to remind myself how I had felt before, and remind myself that I could and will feel that way again.
Now is the time for songs and music to challenge the darkness that threatens us, without bringing us further into it. It is the time for art to capture the beauty that exists within all that is around us, rather than expose the ugliness we can get lost in. It is the time for literature to portray the feelings that we are feeling together and alone, but to always remain hopeful in its rhetoric. It is time for us to gather together around the things that unite us and sing and dance and speak and play and connect.
So that being said, it is time for me to finish the album. I don’t know when... “but I can tell you that something good is on its way. Better days are coming, Brighter Days are coming…”

Brighter Days
There is a quiet stirring in the grass. A silent hum in the trees. The wind is picking up. There is a new scent in the air. Brighter days are coming. . .
