An evening alone, hell yeah

My parents abandoned me tonight, apparently they're at my friend's home (they're all big friends and a little alcoholics) and I'm still home. They're all thinking: 'Ah, Magly should come over too and talk a bit to her friend and they should play a bit guitar' and whatever. I'M NOT BORED. I love being alone in the house. No faces to yell at, just walls, and thank god, walls don't talk back. Spica, my cute little cat, understands me completely in that statement. However, I thought this was a nice opportunity to break into my parents' vinyl closet. So I did.

I picked out some records I didn't know the music of, some of them I knew by name, but others I didn't know at all and I just got attracted by the cover.

The first record that crossed my hand was Robert Palmer - Maybe It's Live It didn't really stick. I'm not easy with live takes, so it has to be very good, which it wasn't. It was okay.

The second record that crossed my ears was A Drop In The Gray - Certain Sculptures My dad's name is written on the cover and most of the times my dad has a brilliant taste of music and indeed, I loved it. If you love new wave, this is a must.

And then there was Jeff Buckley - Grace I never knew Jeff Buckley was that much of a rock dude. That's all I can say, it's a pretty good record.

Now on is The Triffids - Calenture I'm not really listening, because there is a computer in my lap. The singer's voice reminds me sometimes of The Horrors' singer Farris Badwan and that is weird. Other moments his voice reminds me of the singer of Noah and The Wale, which is also a bit weird. It's a good record.

These are the evenings where I lie on the floor, tappin' me feet, closed eyes and just enjoy. I traded in a film-evening for this wonderful musical evening. 

I feel so free.
