Spoilers for the upcoming Rogues series in March 2022!

I hear that, although the fact that it's clearly an AU takes away some of the pressure of OOC Rogues.  That said, it's entirely valid to worry about edginess and a potentially grim read because DC tends to do that with a lot of their Black Label/mature readers' imprints...I'm not looking forward to the Black Label Suicide Squad with Digger which was announced last month because it sounds pretty dark.  But I am looking forward to this, partly because Williamson knows the Rogues and partly because the story concept sounds interesting.  I'm curious to see a 'mature' take on a Rogues' heist story, and hopefully the fact that Williamson does darker indie comics means he's got skill at the concept and isn't flying into uncharted waters with this.  Hopefully it'll combine the better aspects of noir and superhero comics into an enjoyable whole.

I'm also hoping Roscoe appears in this at some point, because he's been all but unused since his return.  This wouldn't be canon, but I'd take it.

Hope so!  It's really encouraging to see DC branching out past Batman stuff for, well, anything and especially for stuff (comics and other media) aimed at an older audience.  I hope this book sells well and brings more projects that aren't from the Batverse in the coming years...that’s reason enough to buy it.

And it’d be a good idea to let DC or some of the creators know what you hope to see in the future so it’s potentially on their radar :)

Glad you're excited!!  It's definitely something to look forward to in the new year, which I think we can all use right now (whatever that may be for any given person), and I'm certainly looking forward to it.  And please pet your doggo for me :D

Yeah, that was my thought too, but wasn't sure how to say it. I guess it's possible that the weirdness of the scene (the Flash goats) means it's a dream sequence or something similar.

Thanks! They might have said that somewhere, but everything I saw seemed to be leaving it open-ended because I couldn't find anything about its length when I looked. And I know there were other people hoping it'd be renewed, so there must have been some confusion about it.

Unfortunately I don't know, as I'm not good at gaming (I get frustrated and ragequit pretty quickly) and won't be playing it myself. I'm just enjoying the screencaps, gifs, and art.

I can't speak for most of the tattoos, but the "what goes around comes around" is a boomerang pun, and the one that says "hoon" is probably a reference to the Australian term which basically means 'hooligan', particularly in the context of driving carelessly. I guess he's proud to be one :>

Usually, but this run's been pretty wild and unusual so far and I don't know if we can count on it to be like what we've seen before. Plus there's a lot of interdimensional weirdness going on, and that could affect how things are presented to the characters/readers. And of course Hartley wouldn't intentionally hurt Linda, so who knows what's going on with this plot.

We know Piper's a musical omnivore. But what about the other Rogues? All we know about their musical tastes is that Captain Cold hates ABBA. (No accounting for taste.) What music do you think the other Rogues would enjoy?

Apparently Weather Wizard hates ABBA too :>  ”Cold.  I already said ABBA!”

I’m never very good at this sort of thing, but have a few ideas.  Since Len complained that Roscoe fancied himself cultured, classical music is an obvious guess.  Someone at /co/ once said that Len can be described as a Johnny Cash song with a freeze gun, so that gets my vote for Len.  Maybe also Bruce Springsteen.  Axel would obviously go with something modern, as he’s so unfamiliar with what came before that he’d never heard of ABBA.

Something tells me James would have a soft spot for circus music, but maybe that’s just being sentimental.  I’m sure everyone else has a zillion ideas on the topic…feel free to share ‘em.

I'm curious: The Rogues seem to have a lot of fangirls. What do you think explains their female following (and please don't say it's Lenny's sex appeal!).

Probably a variety of reasons, but I’d guess primarily two: 1) many women love villains (if you’ve ever been part of Transformers fandom, many Decepticon fans are female), and 2) most of the Rogues are male.  Having mostly male Rogues provides hawtness for the women who are into dudes, and lots of slash potential.

What I’ve always found interesting is which Rogues are generally popular with men and women (and yes this is in general terms and based on my own observation, and of course there are plenty of exceptions).  Male fans seem to generally dig Captain Cold the best, and are often pretty big fans of the Zooms.  Female fans don’t seem to like the Zooms much, and strongly gravitate towards Piper and Trickster.  If comics were more often written by women rather than men, I suspect Cold and the Zooms wouldn’t dominate the Flash books as much as they do.

Is it just me, or were the Rogues written horribly out of character in the Bart-as-Flash series? I get the impression that "Rogues' Revenge" was intended to address that (and Piper/Trickster's actions).

Not just you — I think a lot of people feel that way, with good reason.  For instance, what happened to the “Don’t kill a speedster” rule?  Why were Piper and Trickster participating?  Why were the Rogues so freakin’ stupid?  “We’ll just take Inertia’s word for everything, hurr durr”.

I’m not hugely familiar with Inertia’s early appearances (need to rectify that), but his fans seem to be rather displeased by that storyline as well.

How do you suppose Len and co. look back on their punning past? With nostalgia or shame?

In Flash v2 #182, Len said of Chillblaine’s punning “Clever banter.  I outgrew that #%* years ago.”  So it would seem he looks down on it…and yet he’s made a few subtle puns recently.  Maybe he prefers the less obvious ones. 

Weather Wizard and the Top (when he was last alive) still pun, so they obviously have no problem with it.  As for the others…who knows?  Most of them are a lot less self-conscious about their image than the three guys already mentioned, so I’d think they probably aren’t embarrassed by it.  There’s likely more nostalgia than shame.
