Regarding Len's age, I think it's always supposed to have been a lifetime of hard living -- lots of drinking, some smoking, and (as per his Secret Files bio, written by Johns) he dabbled in drugs when he was younger.  Plus, of course, the balding doesn't help the perception of age.  It is true that women don't really get to age in comics until they become Officially Old, but this art actually does make Lisa look middle-aged without mocking her for it, and I appreciate that.  I'm not a fan of that Flash annual #4 about an AU future which clearly intended some of the aged Rogues to look laughably pathetic, including her.

I share the concern about Digger, who's so often comic relief at the best of times and was definitely mocked for aging poorly in Identity Crisis.  It'd be a nice twist if he's one of the Rogues who's doing better than some of the others.

He sure has.  I think he's got the misfortune of being both a Task Force X mainstay but not particularly powerful and without flashy (no pun intended) abilities -- he kind of 'has' to be on the team most of the time now, but he's also the group butt-monkey.  Therefore he gets kicked around on-panel and off of the page.  I don’t mind them poking fun at him, but Harley instantly forgetting about him and then his head getting blown up for laughs was a bit mean-spirited.

I hear that, although the fact that it's clearly an AU takes away some of the pressure of OOC Rogues.  That said, it's entirely valid to worry about edginess and a potentially grim read because DC tends to do that with a lot of their Black Label/mature readers' imprints...I'm not looking forward to the Black Label Suicide Squad with Digger which was announced last month because it sounds pretty dark.  But I am looking forward to this, partly because Williamson knows the Rogues and partly because the story concept sounds interesting.  I'm curious to see a 'mature' take on a Rogues' heist story, and hopefully the fact that Williamson does darker indie comics means he's got skill at the concept and isn't flying into uncharted waters with this.  Hopefully it'll combine the better aspects of noir and superhero comics into an enjoyable whole.

I'm also hoping Roscoe appears in this at some point, because he's been all but unused since his return.  This wouldn't be canon, but I'd take it.

Hope so!  It's really encouraging to see DC branching out past Batman stuff for, well, anything and especially for stuff (comics and other media) aimed at an older audience.  I hope this book sells well and brings more projects that aren't from the Batverse in the coming years...that’s reason enough to buy it.

And it’d be a good idea to let DC or some of the creators know what you hope to see in the future so it’s potentially on their radar :)

Glad you're excited!!  It's definitely something to look forward to in the new year, which I think we can all use right now (whatever that may be for any given person), and I'm certainly looking forward to it.  And please pet your doggo for me :D

Yeah, I didn't care for any of the Metal stuff and would be quite happy to never see it referenced again...but that's clearly not going to happen.  I don't know why DC dangled the bit with Digger potentially rejoining the Rogues if they weren't going to do anything with it, but perhaps nobody got around to picking it up before other events happened and it just naturally fell by the wayside.  Either way, I'm not a fan of the Hulk thing and hope this status quo doesn't last for long.

DC was often pretty weird about female supporting characters in the Silver Age.  Golden Age Lois Lane was a badass, but in the Silver Age she became an insecure womanchild mostly played for comic relief, as was often Lana Lang.  Iris we've just been discussing.  I've not read much SA Wonder Woman so I don't know a lot about how she was handled, but things improved significantly when the Bronze Age came around.  Not perfect (still isn't), but at least the supporting female characters weren't generally caricatures of working women.  I really love Iris after her wedding to Barry, and she became one of the better female characters at DC.
