The Twelve Apostles - 🇦🇺 Australia The Twelve Apostles is a collection of sea stacks on the south coast of Victoria, Australia. Despite the name, there was only originally eight stacks. Seven remain standing, though there are more (not actual apostles) within the Port Campbell National Park. Located roughly four hours away from Melbourne, they are one of the most famous sites on the Great Ocean Road. The winding 243km stretch of road is one of the most amazing drives I have ever done with incredible ocean scenery, well known natural landmarks and charming little towns to visit. Sunset is a perfect time to visit, with the sun setting behind the Apostles, but any time of day will provide a memorable view and the Great Ocean Road is a fantastic visit at any time! Fun fact: The Great Ocean Road construction began in 1919 with the intention of providing soldiers returning from WW1 with jobs.
