Part III. (in vain.)
- J.
Part II. (fated.)
it is called serendipity
but it reads like fate
written in every language
for every timeline
that belongs to us
& it pulls at us
from every direction
in one direction
hanging in the air
heavy like the words
you never did say
fated.
(but when fated this way
you never have a say
anyway.)

Black hole.
There are times that my thoughts of you are so loud I cannot hear I cannot see what is in front of me, except your absence With compounded irony, your astounding silence While loud, loud memories Painstaking, lucid dreams invade me Oh, of all the things that you said to me, awoke in me Nothing could prepare me for this, my friend Your silence, keeping me up at night You are so loud, still And I feel where you once were, my friend The black hole in my universe, uncanny gravitational pull And I am collapsing, my friend Under the weight of it all Drowning in the loss of you And everything you left behind Right where you found it Promise and hope and cognitive distortion, confusion Here, with me, in my space Leaving me open, and defenseless Because I cannot see what is in front of me Still blinded by your absence And I cannot hear what is around me Except your loud, reverberating silence Oh, the irony, my friend.

Trumped.
He said to me, I am the high card Game changer, trick-taker Wild, loyal to no suit But magnanimous, and honored. Everything and more Than any man could hope for. He said these things, as if he were not a king. In the end He will fall, like the rest Trumped by, not me But his own fears. As men do, he will marry the Queen of Spades. And I will remain, reign High Joker.

Point blank.
Not long ago I was asked to identify the turning point in my life My mind wandered to nothing in particular, until now Surely this is the turning point, finding you, and loving you, touching you, touching my soul, then losing you? l have lost. What a turning point this surely is. Snatched away from a place of blissful ignorance, Left breathless and aching, Knowing what I have been missing my whole life. Surely this is the turning point As I will never be the same This is it.
- J.
I believe in all things that cannot be explained.

Love does not conquer all. But you will never be wrong loving those that do not deserve it. More than likely you will love people that do not deserve it. But if you aren’t fighting for love, you’re fighting against it. And I don’t want to raise a war.
