To be honest, I feel as though the translation tried to go for a very Western tone on how friends talk to each other. As someone that is teased a lot by co-workers, friends, and family, I can see why Ryuji is ok with being teased than outright insulted. As for Morgana, he probably kept it up because Ryuji just kinda playfully accepted it (like I do), but Ryuji really did talk to him worse by constantly picking on his insecurities when Morgana was C L E A R L Y upset...

I mean, that’s the impression I got from the Japanese version as well, so that would be the way it’s meant to come across, but obviously it did not come across to everyone, so... @_@

Usually half-3D stuff doesn't look too bad... but they messed up this one BIG time. It's like they traced her without even realizing where she as in relevance to the scene. what is even happening??

I’v come across, while not terrible, but distracting half CG before (the tentacle monsters in Fate/Zero for one were something else...) but this takes the cake!

The anime itself looks like it was programmed as an FMV for the early PS2...or like an early 2000s CG animation. Its just so....terrible!

I actually thought Johanna was LITERALLY Johanna from The String of Pearls-- I don't know why she'd be a... motorcycle... but she and Milady are both spies (Johanna dresses as a boy to find her lover and works as Sweeney Todd's assistant). So it sort of fits with the "Thief" image, since thieves and spies usually fall under the same stealth jobs, and Johanna IS a famous literary character!

So, several people brought this up to me now and I gotta admit, I seriously forgot Johanna from Sweeney Todd even existed until you brought it up. So I gotta admit, yes it’s absolutely possible that this is the Johanna Makoto’s Persona is meant to portray, so thanks for pointing that out.

That said, Johanna (The Persona) may also be a conflation of the Sweeney Todd Johanna and any of the two other Johannas I brought up before. As I said, Persona isn’t a stranger to conflating different figures with the same name within one Persona, so again, we’ll need to see her compendium entry or entire design to be fully certain.

I think it's definitely famous fictional characters, which Arsene fits under. I'm hoping the pirate lookin' one is Davy Jones, to be honest... also, who's the mysterious sixth party member!? They were in the pyramid scene in the beginning.

Six? Honestly, I couldn’t really count characters I was just too overwhelmed by information... Anyway, I kinda hope we’ll get another female character. Anne and Morgana (who isn’t even human!) aren’t quite enough-. Anne cannot carry all the obligatory girl power of Persona.

It is KINDA suggested in the animations that Yu is teased for his over-eagerness a bit, but mostly in a sort of "oh you" kinda way. I THINK Rise does it, and I know Yosuke does it after Yu tells him about coming into a battle on his scooter. I feel like there's more examples, but I haven't seen the animations in so long...

Yep, Anime Yu is usually teased for having thought processes that sometimes seem to go along the line of “1+2=Pie”, but I feel the team is too busy being confused by his eccentrics to even come up with good comebacks to it.

Yu *gets bit by Teddie*:  “I might be dying.”

Chie: “No, you’re not...”
