It’s time! Once again it’s the end of the week and that means #fivefilmsfriday with the John Carroll Lynch directed film Lucky opening this week we thought it best to talk about film directed by actors. With that we start with the Tim Roth directed piece a family drama called The War Zone. This unflinching film was suggested by @killerjoecooper. Next up we have Any Day Now directed by actor Travis Fine. With this drama focused on the family dynamic in an LGBTQ family in the seventies. This one was suggested by @thecinemum well done! My dude, my guy FSR’s own @filmsnob_heaven picks Ryan Goslings directorial debut Lost River. We talked about it earlier in the week but Zoe Lister-Jones’ Band Aid is good enough to earn another mention. I love this film! It’s another great selection by @lololovesfilms. Lastly my selection for the week is the George Clooney manned Good Night and Good Luck. This biopic of sorts on Edward R. Murrow explores what journalism is and should always strive to be.
