I know I said it already, but I really had such a nice time at The Webby Awards last night.
It's always such a great time to check in with my esteemed internet business friends from all over the world, and also to make new ones.
It might not look like hard work (IT IS!) with the drinks and the dancing and the celebrities and the photobooths, but I am not sure that i would not be where I am today had I not met cool like-minded internet folks in person over cocktail hour at a Webbys conference many years ago and every year ever since. Everyone is having fun in one place for easy bumping into each other. People are making connections and catching up and working the room and talking about ideas and having fun and doing business, which is exactly what they're so great for. Plus who does not love winning prizes??? Business trophies are the best!
This was my favorite standing ovation from last night's ceremonies. Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web so they let him have more than 5 words. Worth the watch.
Congrats to all the winners, and big thanks to the webbys for another great year!

Almost stepped on meme dog doge, listened to some great tunes by Fred Armisten's Ian Rubbish, and ended the night by a rally call for net neutrality by Sir Tim Berners Lee!
