Be prepared for a long story. I did my very first school musical in June 2014 and the musical was Calamity Jane. I was Doc Pierce, everything was going well till the final week of rehearsals where we get out of classes and just rehearse. Well during this I think someone said the M word and this affect me only! During the opening number during rehearsals. I stepped my foot into a paint can made it also tip over and also sat on this paint. I knew all my lines and we did a show during the school day to the kids going to the high school after the summer. We only did Act One only as the schools that came messed up the times but last year it was totally fine for wizard of oz and this caused a problem later on as we had a evening show. I had a scene with Miller in act two and the crowd was full! I said three lines and completely forgot what to say next. I stood there like I was frozen. This was a whole min btw. Just silence. So I jumped to my last line. I was fine after that night, the next night. One of the cabinets on the stage nearly fell on a cast member during a number. We had two Calamity’s as my music/drama teacher couldn’t decide between two girls. So they shared it. One girl did the second night and final night and (my friend) did the other first and third. My friend was in my year (14/15 years old) and she did very well. However the other girl didn’t. The first night during the number ‘Men, Men’ she repeated five lines from the previous section before the chorus and I was in the background being drunk and we needed her to be correct or we would have mucked up. My best friend was in the chorus and she was in this number with other people older than us. We all looked at each other as we knew that she mucked up. So we had to remember what to do without the lyrics. Luckily we did and we saved the song as many people came up to me saying I was so funny in men, men. I have done another one, grease the year after but I don’t want to add what happened there.
