Jerusalem has exceeded my expectations. During our time there we got to visit the holy sites and explore history through the lens of different religious groups. Apart from the breathtaking buildings and winding streets of the Old City, the spiritual energy is vibrant and very alive. Visiting a recreated ancient village was a good way to learn about life in the time period before Jesus. Jerusalém superou minhas expectativas. Durante nosso tempo lá, nós conseguimos visitar os locais sagrados e explorar a história através da lente de diferentes grupos religiosos. Além das construções de tirar o fôlego e ruazinhas da Cidade Velha, a energia espiritual é vibrante e muito viva. As we drive around the coast of the Dead Sea in Israel 🇮🇱, we find ourselves stopping constantly for the views. We just can’t get enough of the landscape and uniqueness of it all. Masada is another extraordinary archeological site in Israel. The site sits on top of a mountain only accessible by hiking or by a newly installed cable car (we did both). Masada has gone through many different peoples. Unfortunately, the most memorable story was when the Romans invaded this last Jewish stronghold. After the Romans built a tower to enter the city and managed to burn down the entrance the Jews knew their fate. The story goes, that instead of the Jews losing the battle and becoming enslaved by the Romans, they decided to take their own lives the night before the Romans were to enter. Super intense. What would you do in this situation? 😟 Masada é outro sítio arqueológico extraordinário em Israel. Ela fica no topo de uma montanha acessível apenas por caminhadas ou por um teleférico recém-instalado (fizemos os dois). Masada passou por muitos povos diferentes. Infelizmente, a história mais memorável foi quando os romanos invadiram esta última fortaleza judaica. Depois que os romanos construíram uma torre para entrar na cidade e conseguiram incendiar a entrada, os judeus sabiam seu destino. A história diz que, em vez de os judeus perderem a batalha e se tornarem escravizados pelos romanos, eles decidiram tirar suas próprias vidas na noite anterior à entrada dos romanos. Before visiting the Dead 💀 Sea I thought it to be a bit too gimmicky for me, but after parking on the side of the road, hiking through sink holes 🕳 (hoping not to fall through one🤞), and enjoying some tranquility without anybody else, I would totally recommend it to anyone. The experience the truly like no other. When given the chance, DO IT! Antes de visitar o Mar Morto, achei que seria um pouco sem graça demais para mim, mas depois de estacionar na beira da estrada, caminhando por buracos (esperando não cair🤞), e desfrutando de um pouco de tranquilidade sem ninguém, Eu totalmente recomendaria a todos. Loving Crete and getting to explore a bit of the eastern side of this massive island. The #spinalonga island is pretty cool. Once a military fort utilized by different empires, but most recently a leper colony. As early as 1903, people with leprosy were exiled to this island to avoid contaminating others until it closed down in 1957.
