It totally ignored the game, I don’t even know why ???

I can get them taking some liberties to make itself fresh to readers who played through the game, but ughhh I dunno, they went way too far. They built up all this mystery with the crooked man and his cohorts, and answered NONE of the questions. It just makes for such a frustrating read knowing nothing’s resolved.
